This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

That apparently carried over to Nadia for some reason, though they apparently hashed it out when they were both Avengers.
She supposedly still dislikes Peter Parker though, so Status Quo stupidly maintained.
Necessary to make the Runaways’ dumb thing work and out of character for Cap
Don't even get me started on that. I'm not asking for the Runaways to like everyone, or for every hero to always be good and perfect, but c'mon. Steve wouldn't screw up like that. Hank marvel was determined to make him a punching bag Pym was a better friend to the Runaways than that.
One Strip! One Strip! No I think that was from their first run.

Oh, you mean X-23?
Well, to be fair, he did use her in a Fast Ball Special without her permission.
One Strip! One Strip!Janet van Dyne learned one wasp fact and decided to roll with it
The weirdest thing is that parasitic wasps lay their eggs in spiders so actually like spiders quite a lot
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNah I like Nadia irrationally deciding to not vibe with Peter/Spider-man. It's funny as shit. I also think the MU should generally have more characters who are all heroic, but just don't get along for whatever reason. Like Rogue and Carol.
Mackay mentioned in an interview that making the Avengers the no-fun parade was such an easy cop out, one that he was even guilty of in Moon Knight that he wanted to deliberately avoid in his run. So far, so good.
Cap sending the Runaways like that was way too far. Also the Punisher shooting at them and generally being treated as a joke. Say what you want about Rowell, but she didn't do that crap!
U.S Army E-sports Discord Server Ban Speedrun Any%Rogue doesn’t like that Carol kept punching her in the face, Carol didn’t like that Rogue violently attacked her and ripped out her memories, powers, and personality.
But Carol finally stopped wishing harm on Rogue recently
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
x5 Yeah, even great writers can sometimes fall into that bad habit of having the Avengers (and other superhuman teams like the X-Men) come in and act like a “no fun allowed” brigade to the book’s protagonists. It’s an unfortunate trope within the setting. A very bad expression of Let's You and Him Fight
Speaking of characters who are good but hate each other, Spidey himself has that dynamic with Storm. I’ve noticed that in virtually EVERY Spider-Man/X-Men crossover, Peter and Ororo always get along like oil and water. Storm — rather like Laura — finds Peter’s constant jokes and general personality annoying, while Peter sees Storm as a self-righteous asshole who takes herself too seriously and threatens to lightning bolt people at little provocation.
Well considering Norman Osborn is TOTALLY DEAD AND NOT AT ALL ALIVE, I'm very curious to see how they handle the Green Goblin here.
Especially since this Spider-Man is already an adult but still learning to crawl.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I'm sure I saw a comment about the Ultimate/6160 Goblin being perceived as a hero.
I think Earth-616 Norman had at least one early story where the public assumed he was a hero, as they didn't know he was taking down rival gangs.
It could be that. They could actually be a hero. And then slide into villainy or get killed and replaced. Plenty of scope for fun.

That was me, and I was talking about 616 Norman during Thunderbolts and Dark Reign.
Don't give them ideas, they already aged up Annie May.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Yay, new Unlimited story began today, and it's the return of the Renew Your Vows Spidey.
We kick things off in 616, where Peter is webbing off crooks. As he swings away, he begins to think about the multiverse and the worlds where everything he ever wanted in life worked out for him...he draws on the memory of the Renew Your Vows Spider-Family and reckons he's a really good dad.......And then we cut to RYV Spidey, who says he's probably the worst dad. Why? Because he's had to prioritise fighting crime over buying Annie an expensive present. It's Christmas time!
After a high speed car chase, Peter webs up the crooks and arrives at 'Conway's Gizmos' to fetch Annie her present, he changes to civilian gear but when he sees the place has been burgled, he realizes the switch was a waste and puts his costume on again. Peter talks to the cops, who tell him someone in a skin tight spandex costume swiped the gizmos before the shop even opened, Peter heads off to investigate, while someone is watching him from the shadows

It's mostly the Avengers who are so-so about him.
Wasp used to dislike him on the basis that Spiders and Wasps are natural enemies. Not sure what that was about.
