This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

yeah both absolutely undersell how bad she was
That's not what happened - he hesitated, but went to save them. Norman and Gwen were already dead, so he could only save his own clone.
Then we see Helen and Ben leaving at the end, but it's actually not explained *why* she's not staying with Peter. It's one of the things that bugs me about Life Story, because the conclusion really doesn't make sense.
Yeah, my memory was pretty blurry and I only remembered this part of the story clearly. He was pretty fine with letting the clones die and not rescue them till the clone Gwen convinced him to give a damn.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"'Ultimate Spider-Man #1' Cover Spotlights Peter Parker and Mary Jane's Ultimate Love Story
I really like the cover and I'm looking forward to the book, but this does also feel a little bit like good-natured trolling towards the 616 approach.
Just wait till it's revealed that this Peter is actually Paul. The beard gives it away.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I think we'll get a major twist. The status quo we're seeing is just the starting point. The hero doesn't get to stay happy forever.
But I'd be surprised if they used MJ or the kids for that. Do we know the status of Ben, May, Peter's parents and Teresa yet? Any of them could get a Death by Origin Story moment.
(Have we had a variant where May dies and Ben raises Peter yet?)
That's not what's shown on the page there. He was stressed, checking that Gwen was okay, and confused.
That's not "pretty fine with letting the clones die".
In Hickman's Ultimate Universe? Peter's parents, Teresa, and Ben are unknown but the Ultimate Universe one-shot reveals that May was among the people that went missing or got killed when the bad guys tried to snuff out the 6160 variants of Tony, Reed (Iron Lad and Dr. Doom, long story), Thor, and Sif by zapping the building they were in. Also among the disappeared are Norman Osborn and his wife, ergo Harry is all by himself.
So for all we know, 6160!Peter might have already gotten someone with the death by origin story before becoming Spider-Man.

Saiga's knife cuts the deepest.

With how willing and eager adaptations and elseworlds are to kill Aunt May nowadays, it was kind of inevitable that we’d get a series where she’s dead before we even meet her.
But more seriously, I highly doubt Peter will have a Death by Origin Story in Nu-Ultimate. A very big thing for the new Ultimate Universe is a willingness to do completely different takes on the characters, so maybe 6160 Peter will be someone who becomes a hero WITHOUT having to be guilt-tripped into it by losing someone important to him. Particularly since this Peter is already a father and husband when he’s getting the powers apparently.

They haven't confirmed the identity of the new Ultimate Green Goblin yet, though. That would be a twist.

I've had this theory that MJ and Norman swapped places somehow in the Wells run.
So clearly, MARY JANE IS THE NEW ULTIMATE GREEN GOBLIN!
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

So kind of like Doom bots.
