This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

GREG WEISMAN????
Man, if this was a Spectacular Spider-Man continuation, I’d be way more hyped about it. Or if it were anything other than 616 and would therefore be free of any of Spider-Editorial’s bullshit. But still, it’s really awesome to have Greg writing Spidey again, I’ll definitely be checking this out.
~Spectacular! Spectacular!~
~Spider-Men!~
~Spectacular! Spectacular!~
~Spider-Men!~
But seriously, I hope this lasts. Maybe after Young Justice, Greg has finally broke his curse.
One Strip! One Strip! They don't even have the balls to just move MJ away from Peter at this point. They know she sells so they keep them separated but still have MJ hang out with Peter just to rub it in that she's dating someone else.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I mean, the one thing in recent memory I want to see adapted is Go Down Swinging. Spidey going Cluster F-Bomb upon seeing the Red Goblin remains better than whatever the fuck is going on.
It’s pretty telling that the few GOOD stories of the Post-OMD era — Grim Hunt, Power to the People, Big Time, Spider-Island, Ends of the Earth, Go Down Swinging, a lot of the Spencer run, etc. — are not only the minority, but usually the kind of stories that either could’ve easily happened without the OMD retcon or even would’ve been better without the retcon looming over it. The whole thing really has just become an millstone around the comic’s neck; keeping it from going anywhere and more trouble than it’s worth.
I’d definitely say it’s Brevoort, Cebulski, and Lowe. Quesada USED to be among their number and put himself front and center as the architect of OMD but as noted, he doesn’t work as editor in chief anymore. Those three are the ones who have most consistently described or been described as responsible for the current state of Spider-Man. And yeah, there’s definitely no business reason to it. It’s entirely weird bitter personal reasons.
Dang. Well I got his one time on ASM in hopes of him getting more. Guess I have to bit the bullet.
I think I touched upon it before here, but this is definitely an example of why I don't agree with the marriage being invalid cause it happened 28 years after Pete's career:
Alfred going from butler who is employed sometime after Dick Grayson gas settled into his Robin role and kept out of the loop for a time to father figure around since before Bruce is born and a confidant from the start.
Weisman's going to be very busy between this series and all the Gargoyles comics he's writing. I've always enjoyed Ramos's art work. And honestly, I'm surprised it took this long to get a Peter/Miles ongoing series.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Information came out about 2024's Free Comic Book Day edition
Looks as though Norman Osborn becomes Green Goblin again in time for the 50th issue of Wells' run.
MJ: Now if only I had a blonde woman who dated Peter that I could throw off a bridge.
Felicia: Hey, MJ. Uh, what's with the Goblin costume? Halloween was last month.
MJ (grinning evilly): Purrrr-fect.

Look, if MJ starts wearing the Green Goblin costume and bombing people, then we know what’s going on.
