This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Apparently Marvel thinks the fans demanded yet-more mashup versions of Venom, so here we go...
In the spirit of What If...? Miles Morales and the last couple of Spider-Gwen arcs, a series in which the Venom symbiote bonds with She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, Loki and Wolverine.
Presumably because we lost a bunch of variants during Death of the Venomverse and need to restock...
I hope at least one point of divergence is 'Spider-Man uses the actual costume machine.'
The Protomen enhanced my life.A missed opportunity of the original Venomverse was grappling with a character where the majority of his alternates are mostly straight up evil with only the decent ones being a relative minority.
It be Eddie grappling with the fact that him or at least variations of Venom almost always turn out to be monsters and full rogues. Like how in the Renew Your Vows universe Eddie died being killed by Peter because he attacked his family, which undoubtably would horrify 616-Eddie if he learned this.
But instead most of alternate Venom's are just Venomized heroes who are just kind surly at worst. So the potential there is lost.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah my ideas for those potential stories would be Eddie developing a bond with one of Peter's alternate kids like Mayday and Annie, and interacting with their parents to sort of redeem himself to them by saving their kids from other Venom's. Even have Dylan interacting with one of their kids and developing a ship-tease rapport to the awkwardness of their parents.
And the main conflict would center on Eddie encountering a Spider's Shadow Peter who never let go of the symbiote and lost himself completely. So Eddie can commit the ultimate redemption of himself by saving a Peter's soul from the symbiote. Plus it would be a cool awesome fight of Uber-Venom vs Uber-Venom, bonus if that Peter also became a King in Black in his verse.
Lotta stuff you can do there.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah Spiderverse works because it's usually new. "What If Spiderman, but a punk rocker? What If Spiderman, but a pig? What if Spiderman but he's a noir era black and white detective?"
Venomverse is just "What If Venom bonded to someone else?"
The various cartoon or game or movie adaptations do better with the Venomverse concepts since they are still Venom but in different contexts.

#IceBearForPresidentI like alternative Venoms that are savvy to the tropes that fit well with symbiotic possession.
Like for example, it readily lends itself to “hero with a demon sword”. You can do it in a sword and sorcery direction or with a Shonen protagonist like that recent Japanese venom.
Or like the Cute and Psycho direction of Gwenpool.
And like besides the inspired name (from poet and court wit John Skelton), I liked how Hieronymous Skelton does the “normal guy who Hulks out” thing with a symbiote wearer.
TIL there is a two
part
1996 BBC radio adaptation of the first 14 or so Spider-Man issues, with the Fantastic Four in the mix as well.
This series is designated as Earth-96115
.
Fandom.com isn't an official Marvel wiki, though, is it? And although (like This Very Wiki), it draws a distinction between fan and official sources, this page is not obviously citing anything I can check. It may be that the radio series itself mentions the Earth number, which is what it seems to be implying, but that seems odd.
Fandom.com may not be official, but they only ever use official sources and never use fanworks or fanon. That being said, Fandom.com also tends to have missing information, particularly for more obscure topics like this. I would guess that the radio show gets its designation from some sourcebook somewhere and whoever wrote that article just didn’t bother to cite it, which is bad form but its Fandom.com, it sucks ass for a lot of reasons.
Looks like this didn't get brought up.
We got a first look at the cover of issue 2
for Hickman's Ultimate Spider-Man!
Enter Ultimate Green Goblin! And also Peter doing his best impression of Clark Kent?
Nu-Ultimate does seem to be having a lot of Japanese/anime & manga influences scattered throughout it, like having Sunfire and his Japanese Empire as one of the major factions or Peach Momoko’s X-Men using Hisako/Armor as the viewpoint character with Momoko’s very manga-esque art. So the kappa look might be what they’re going for. Kappa are basically Japanese goblins…

He just finds Peter's webbed up clothes and becomes Bugleman.
