This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Number Ones Sell
That’s a hot marketing tip from the 90s. The bubble will never burst!
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt definitely does not make it hard to get into books when there’s like ten volumes, many which have just a handful of issues before they were cancelled to be relaunched
Forever liveblogging the AvengersUnstoppable Wasp was similar. It was getting relaunched multiple times in an extremely short time span if I recall right. And it didn’t even have a “number ones of this sell” excuse because that series was always doing painfully low numbers during its entire run.

Here's a fun idea: Let's say you're the script-writer for a new Spider-Man animated TV show, one starting in his college years, and skipping over much of the early stuff like Uncle Ben dying and learning Great Responsibility. You're tasked with assembling five obscure or B-tier supervillains from his corner of the Marvel Universe to be his main enemies for the first season. Who do you pick, and how do you reinvent/reinterpret them if at all?
Okay my choice of obscure villains would be Big Wheel, White Rabbit, that monster Slyde, Agony, and Jessica Carradine.
Jessica is a fellow Spider person but became evil Ezekiel and uses her powers to gain as much influence and control over New York as possible and these are her team of lackeys.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"So I finally got my hands on Spider-Boy #1 and it's... not bad? It certainly doesn't deserve the vitriol being lobbed at Bailey.
Some of the humor is juvenile ("You're something worse than a vampire, you're a ginger!"), there's a literal, "How do you do, fellow kids?" moment, and Slott continues to write Robbie Robertson as an asshole.
BUT Bailey succeeds at being endearing, the action is great, Peter is portrayed as a functional adult and a competent superhero (what a low bar), and the story has a sense of Silver Age-silliness and wonder while keeping dramatic (if reasonably low) stakes.
I could definitely read a series about Bailey.

I have my issues with Dan Slott for sure, but his writing is masterpiece tier compared to what's going on in the current run.
He was able to keep writing Spider-Man for 10 years for a reason.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"In all honesty, Bailey’s concept and the way he was introduced was way worse than the actual character himself wound up being. Introducing him as an OC kid sidekick forced retroactively into Peter’s backstory and hyped up as a close friend and confidante was always going to taint the character in a lot of people’s eyes and made it seem like he was gonna be the worst kind of new character, but once you get past that… he’s really a remarkably good character, many of his stories have been unexpectedly well-written, he’s been given plenty of unique qualities to help him find a good niche in the Spiderfamily, and the idea of Spidey getting a young Robin-style sidekick isn’t actually that bad. All in all, Bailey isn’t bad.
I think an additional problem, though, is that Bailey is slightly hobbled for the same reason Miles is; his role pretty much requires Peter be the experienced and mature adult of the Spiders, but Spider-Editorial doesn’t want that. But beyond that, Bailey’s fine.

I think I missed some of this, as I've been dipping in and out of the Spider-books recently.
Where should I look for the Superior setup?
