This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I’m picturing this scene
but with Peter, Miles, Hobie, and Mayday.

I think Noir did Spider-Spy stuff because Noir as a genre often dips into spy stuff.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
It was the focus of his second mini, which was set in WWII and had him fighting Axis sympathizers, but beyond that he was more gritty detective. Plus his breed of Spy Fiction was more gritty Stale Beer pulp. I was thinking more Bond-esque funky Martini Flavored.

While the James Bond comparisons are coming, the whole thing with Tracy’s murder is chillingly reminiscent of that time Spider-Editorial tried to kill MJ by putting her on a plane and blowing it up, complete with Peter seeming to forget about it and go right back to flirting and partying after a ten minute period of mourning.
Picturing it now, a James Bond-influenced Spider-Man mini where MJ gets gunned down on the church steps immediately after she and Peter get married and the next issue begins with Peter throwing Guy Who Is Legally Distinct From Doctor Octopus down a reactor to his death before immediately cracking jokes as he has sex with Carlie Cooper.
Ultimate Universe is out. Spider-spoilers:
There goes another Aunt May. Killed offscreen before we ever met her, due to a Kill Sat attack on New York. Norman Osborn was apparently another victim. It's Never Found the Body stuff, but feels like Hickman's taking them offstage before the new series starts so that it can't just fall back into the same patterns.
I always figured that Peter had been stuck in the Marvel equivalent of Silent Hill 2's "Maria" ending, and that the "Aunt May" we see today has actually just been a magical construct made by Mephisto while the real one has been worm chow for quite a while (either since One More Day or ASM #400; if the latter, then the "actress hired by Norman Osborn" thing was a load of bull in-universe).
And Spider-Boy #1 is out, with two stories and a bunch of new villains.
Gutter Ball, the bowling equivalent of 8-Ball! Hellifino, Madame Monstrosity's merger of a boy, a rhino and an elephant! And a team-up with Squirrel Girl against Emilio Helio, the balloon man (who has Magneto-level control over gasses and an army of animated balloon animals). Apparently Helio also has to breathe helium, and gets very angry when people laugh at his squeaky voice.
I think I was expecting something slightly more serious, although it does have its mood whiplash moments. But then I've not read many of Bailey's previous appearances.

Since we’re mentioning the Cold War and Spidey, it’d be real cool if we ever got an elseworld based around Spy Fiction for Spider-Man. Pete as a James Bond-esque superspy. Spider-Assassin was kind of like that, but not quite.
