This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

It appears we might see more of the Sin Spear. Kraven binds and buries it in the grave Peter dug for him earlier. He also tells Norman where it is. Norman cut himself on the blade slightly and some sins got back into his system, so he may want, like an addict, a 'fix' and will use the spear for that until of course he goes too far and overdoses
It isn't really contempt for MJ but rather contempt for Peter having a one true love interest which goes against the idea that a single Peter Parker works best. As has been pointed out on the Derailing Love Interests page, Felicia suffered from this when she and Peter started dating and their relationship became unexpectedly popular. It's easy to forget now due to how modern revisionism of their relationship being much more shallow, but Felicia genuinely did love Peter.

Yep. Any woman who becomes close enough to Peter is going to be shit on in uncomfortably misogynistic ways by Spider-Editorial because they hate the idea of Peter ever settling down and getting married because it makes him old in their eyes and “ruins the book forever” by making deal with icky adult problems instead of “relatable teen adventures”. It’s completely delusional and more than a tad creepy.
If MJ didn’t exist and Felicia had become Peter’s main love interest and wife, she would’ve been subjected to a One More Day. If Gwen had never died, she probably would have too. And ever since OMD, Spider-Editorial has been strict on never having any of Peter’s relationships become especially deep or serious and ending before they can. They don’t realize or care that this doesn’t make Peter look like a Casanova, just a loser who can’t manage even the most basic of relationships.
You’d think that if they were really that opposed to him settling down they’d just have him be single and not seek out serious romantic relationships, just casual sex or friends with benefits if even that, but instead they keep shacking him up with random girls because he apparently always needs to be committed to someone which defeats their whole argument for getting rid of MJ. Its weird and is just one of many ways the whole thing reeks of weird psychosexual hang ups and/or creepy neo-puritanism (“he can’t be married but he can’t sleep around neither because our blessed Spider-Man wouldn’t sleep with no whores!”).
More Paul torture as Peter drops him from the bridge, though MJ saves him. Norman relieves Peter of his sins with Kraven's spear and it's implied he got them back at the end, Peter and MJ finally emotionally reconnect with an embrace
If that really happens, I'll be on the lookout for flying pigs. Until then, I'm keeping my skeptical spectacles on.
These spoilers are real, like I said, I saw the pages over on a Discord channel.
There is one thing twitter/X is already raging about, and I suspect it'll be the same here, in that The now remorseful Peter tells MJ he doesn't really blame her for any of what happened, MJ replies with "I know"

Oh hey, I guess I can go looking for flying pigs after all. I found the spoilers via Twitter (I'm still calling it that, so Elon can buzz off) and it's as you said.
I fortunately haven't seen anyone whining about MJ, but the guy I mentioned earlier keeping tabs on this trainwreck is now convinced that Wells and Lowe are very aware of this run's problems, they're not interested in really solving them, and we're getting under their skins. So keep up the complaining.
I'm disappointed that Peter just used his old black suit when he went nuts again.
I dig that being his go-to whenever he's in a bad mood and wants to do some un-Spiderman like antics, but I was really looking forward to him either using a Green Goblin suit or a GG colored variant of his Spider suits.
I mean, I thought it was cool when he wore Otto's Superior suit during the Spiderman/Deadpool mini. Thought it was setting up him having a series of "evil" suits he busts out for specific moods.

#IceBearForPresidentI was thinking the same thing.
Peter is strong, fast, has a pre-cogniitve sense that pairs well with his speed, can cling to walls for greater mobility, his webbing has various uses, and he can create more for specific fights, has shown the ability to build advanced suits when needed, and (and I've stressed this so many times) has continually shown the ability to take on entire teams of Supervillains (and heroes) again and again.
And this is when he's in a good mood. Take all this, and then add in a Peter who is in a murderous mood, and who's not making a single god damned joke.
He'd cut a bloody swath through the entire hero community. If most of them were smart, they'd be fully aware of how dangerous he is, but considering his current status quo is everyone thinks he's really annoying I imagine a lot of heroes would be caught completely off guard by a Peter who stopped fucking around.
I actually hope to see a Spiderman vs the Marvel Universe type story.
One Strip! One Strip! That would be awesome to see. I'm imagining that if the current plot hadn't been completely wasted...Peter would have wiped out most of the other heroes...and we'd get a fast forward years later. Eventually the sins would be removed...and Peter would time travel back to prevent all of the events leading up to his corruption.
And they called Iron Man a jerk for coming up with anti-spider technology.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNah, the real reason is that you hate him.
Doc Ock is more overexposed than him.
There hasn’t been a major Goblin story since 2020.
Meanwhile we got a retread of the living brain and Sinister six in this run for his anniversary.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!""Hero goes temporarily bad/villain goes temporarily good/morality inversion in general" are really such stock plot hooks that I feel like this arc wouldn't have even raised an eyebrow had it not been part of a run that was already largely perceived as an extended hate letter to the audience tbh.

Remember, people were rooting for the Spidey who laughs BECAUSE he was actually competent and beating up Paul.
So it does feel like another insult.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

And it turns out his O-face is the Goblin mask.
That may not be the worst thing revealed in that story but it's still up there.
