This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Jackpot is a pretty weird route to go power-wise. I know it's a play on her catchphrase, and I love the idea of MJ finally becoming a super herself, and I dug the contrast it made between her and Black Cat, but eh.
Her power being an actual slot machine is just weird. Should've made it simpler and just make her power be good luck to further contrast Black Cat's bad luck power.

It’s petty but I’m having a hoot at you calling him the spider man that laughs because both concepts earn nothing but eye rolls from me
Trust me, this whole run has been nothing BUT continuous eye-rolls. Like, even before the whole Spider-Man Who Laughs business, we were all just rolling our eyes because Wells seems hellbent at having Peter be at his most pathetic and spineless yet and MJ at her most witchiest yet.
Really, if we end up hearing about MJ's Jackpot getting a miniseries at NYCC 2023, I won't be surprised if the overall response is the social media equivalent of Chirping Crickets.

My guess is that the Jackpot powers are meant to be something it's easy to write around. Since MJ is a supporting character, rather than the lead, the writers need to be able to push MJ to the sidelines whenever the story calls for Spider-Man and Spider-Man alone to deal with a problem. And since the Jackpot powers are effectively random, it's easy to do that by just saying, "Oops! Got a bad roll of luck this time!"
So anyone remember reading rumors about Jonathan Hickman writing Spider-Man?
It's for a new Ultimate Spider-Man comic set in the new Ultimate Universe!
Art by Marco Checchetto! Coming January 2024! More details (like which Spidey is it?) to drop at NYCC 2023 during Marvel's Next Big Thing panel!

Ultimate Spider-Man is one of the few things that Bendis did that people still like.
It'll be interesting to see how Hickman does with it.
One Strip! One Strip!I mean, for all we know, the three skulls could make her melt and reveal her to be a clone.
Is that cruel and cop-out-ish? Probably, but then Wells has been doing nothing good with MJ and now I'm hearing a rumor that the supposed Jackpot mini might just be a one-shot.
As in one singular comic.
(Not sure if either or is true, but geez, the fact they haven't said anything about her Jackpot stint apart from a vague "Jackpot will return" speaks omnibuses by now.)

So I don't know if it was mentioned already, but Scans Daily posted some stuff from Uncanny Spiderman issue 1:
Hah. Not sure where this is in Peter's timeline, considering what's going on in his main book, but Kurt was born for this. I really hope we get to see him fighting Spiderman rogues too. Someone in the comments did mention he took on the Vulture during the issue.
One Strip! One Strip! If video games have taught me anything, three skulls is fine, but 2 character face panels and a bar is game over for the whole party.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Probably going to be a fresh start. That's my assumption.
But I don't know about Hickman so I can't say for sure. This is spinning out of the Ultimate Invasion arc, so I'd expect that to change up a lot of things before we get to this new series.
One Strip! One Strip! It just hit me
that Hickman and Checchetto are the guys who made the "You Get It" story (the one where a Peter meets up with other Peter variants who appear to have it better, but it turned out to be a secret test of character) in Amazing Fantasy #1000!
What if that was a pilot for this take on Ultimate Spider-Man?
In any case, the art is going to kick all the butts!
So the first issue of Uncanny Spider-Man came out today, and so far it looks good. I did like the part where Spidey tries to help Nightcrawler by trying to talk to him. Spidey is his regular self, so the issue takes place either before or after what is currently happening over in Amazing Spider-Man. Vulture appears to have a suit upgrade, works for Orchis, and wants to be called Director Vulture. Vulture and Nightcrawler don't fight in this issue. This issue ends by revealing Silver Sable and her mercenaries have been hired to capture Nightcrawler.
Out of curiosity, can someone explain how Nightcrawler had looked more demonic? I don't really follow X-men that much, and it was a main plot point in the issue.

Welp Wells run is gonna make that reunion very awkward if Peter does brutally murder Paul as Jackpot!MJ declares she'll never forgive him
