This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

It's kind of a shame. As the idea of a character falling into darkness over a film is nice. But it's sadly rushed
Like Eddie in the film is aldo someone whose already an amoral asshole so of course the synbiote means he now gets the opportunity to be an actual monster as that evil now comes to the surface (tbf his film version being a sociopath is closer to carnage than Venom)
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."More changes over in the Infinity Comics line -
The weekly Edge of Venomverse Unlimited webcomic (which replaced Spider-Verse Unlimited) ends today (last issue of a four-part grand finale narrated by Earth-11964's Kraven, revealing how the Sinister Six became the Symbiote Six).
From next week we get a new Spider-Man Unlimited webcomic instead.
I wonder how it'll interact with the Wells run, if at all?
Over on CBR's forums yesterday, Dan Slott chimed in with a three step plan to encourage Marvel readership to petition for the return of the marriage in 616.
The steps were
1. Less open hostility towards Marvel staff or fans of the books' current direction.
2. Begin a letter writing campaign requesting the revivals of either Spider-Girl, Renew Your Vows, or the incredibly obscure 'Mr and Mrs Spider-Man'
3. If/When we get that, the readership must vote with their wallets and make that book more successful on a consistent basis than the main Amazing Spider-Man title to convince Marvel to make widespread changes to it
Slott is basically the comic book writer's version of the Shock Jock, isn't it? Loud, abrasive, and in your face, both in his comics and on twitter, but ultimately serving as a persona that wants to get your attention and thus your dollars.
Yeah like he said a lot of provocative stuff back when Superior was starting up, shit like mocking fans for being uncomfortable with a cover of Ock forcefully kissing MJ(Though the comic does have Ock put distance and not force himself on her.) saying how Doc Ock is actually a morally superior hero to Peter after erasing him, and how the run was supposed to give Doc Ock an iconic bad guy moment to surpass Norman Osborn.
When the run ends with Norman Osborn successfully outsmarting Doc Ock with shit like hacking his tech and basically being Eviler than Thou.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Marvel Age#1000 (Ryan Stegman's Spider-Man story)
A quick and decent short where Peter fights The Lizard while taking text messages and phone calls from MJ reminding him he's late for sunday dinner with her, Aunt May, Jonah, Robbie, Randy and...Marla! The story is either a flashback or takes place in neutral continuity. Jameson tells Robbie they'll sell lots of papers about the Lizard tomorrow so that means Jonah still works for the Bugle here. Peter is only five minutes late to the party and MJ gives him her old phone as she upgraded. Everyone forgives Peter for being late and he calls them the best supporting cast a man can have
I’ll say.
Poor bastard has been recovering from Pancreatic Cancer.
He’s healthy but there have still been complications that he’s had to deal wish.
Good luck Gerry. Stay well.
One Strip! One Strip!Hmm, so Peter just figures 'hey, black suit' for some random reason

This whole Zeb Wells run has been a perpetual migraine, but Kraven's thought boxes aren't terrible? I'm guessing the black ones are his insecurities and he's arguing with himself that he ran like a wuss?
And why do I get the distinct feeling that Spidey in the Black Suit is a distraction from a reveal that his face got more Goblin-y?
The Spider-Man Unlimited Infinity Comic launches today, replacing the Venom series.
...and we get a crossover between Earth-616 and the PlayStation Spider-Man continuity. Plus a take on the Spot that seems to be inspired by the Spider-Verse films.
Marvel has a piece about it here
, talking to writer Christos Gage.
Well that's not too surprising. I think like how batman the animated series ensured Mr freeze would be a definitive and iconic rogue. The same would be true of spiderverse for Spot.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."

I actually am 100% behind Avi here.
The Sandman plot was the least interesting of the movie and Sam really liked it. It also barely made sense with the costume and wouldn't have many any sense with it. The Harry plotline wasn't any better.
Venom was done dirty by the movie but he's the best part of the film.
