This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

According to Life of Reilly it was believed that Harry wasn't a credible enough of a threat to mastermind the big, complicated scheme. Its also why it was vetoed to have Norman be Gaunt (why it seems to shift from him being the guy behind things to not) or to have him be bedridden and recovering those years he was presumed dead.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersProblem is Norman being the mastermind behind everything since Gwen Stacy's death just raised further questions
Like if he was watching and manipulating things so well that he could replace Aunt May with an actress who would die for him. Why did he let Harry die
How did Robert Kingsley break into several of his old bases and steal his secret journals if he was still alive and watching from afar.
Glenn Greenberg and Tome Beevort both commented on the implausibility of "Mastermind Norman."
The Clone Saga was another case of Spider-Man editors taking turns trying to "fix" a simple story and making it into a bloated confusing mess.
Just like the Hobgoblin Story

Honestly, the whole robot plan is pretty simple. Just build some robots that look like Peter’s parents to fuck with him. It’s not that complicated.
Considering Harry’s grudge with Peter, his own issues with dad, and deteriorating sanity, him building the robots to fuck with Peter isn't too much of a stretch even if it was a hasty retcon because Marvel regretted bringing back his parents.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"So there now exists a copy of the Wedding Album signed by Zeb Wells, Dan Slott, and Joe Quesada
They even left personalised messages
Wells: "I hope you stay together FOREVER"
Slott: "Have a devilishly good marriage, and don't forget to renew your vows"
Quesada: "Peter and MJ...sorry, best wishes"

Tbf in contrast. Sony has done a better job with the franchise.
And Arad has helped produce much better stuff like spiderverse. It's Just people focus on the bad.
Wells and lowe contrast have been toxic to the brand with their odd decisions.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Peter B. Parker got divorced but got back together with MJ for good
[Two things Joe "deal with Satan" Quesada was vehemently against to "protect the Spidey brand"]
Now baby Mayday is alive and well with semi retired Spider-Dad happier than ever
[Marvel editorial would rather have Norman getaway with infanticide and have Peter cucked by some rando named Paul then ever be a happy family man]
Avi Arad produced both Spiderverse movies that gave us the older mature Peter fans have been begging for.
I think it's safe to say he's pro marriage.

Funnily enough, I was a kid when Spider-Man 3 came out, and I was hyped to see Venom in it. Parents bought tickets for the entire class when it came out on my birthday. Can’t remember if the rest of the class liked it.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I liked Spider-Man 3 so much I bought it on bootleg, saw it in theaters and it was my first Blu ray movie I watched on my cousins PS 3. That had the Spider-Man movie lettering.
They constantly keep referencing that damn bridge every time.
It's the Goblin gimmick at this point.
So yes if Goblin Spidey fights Jackpot expect him to throw MJ off the bridge. Preceeded by a rant about how she's betrayed and hurt him
In a villanous "No One Crosses the Goblin Spider AHAHAHA" monologue.

Dunno. Maybe life of Reilly gets into it, though that blog tends to pass the buck sometimes.
All I know is that Bob Harris didn’t like Harry so they went with Norman.
Which is much better IMO. I preferred the way Harry went out in spectacular 200.
