This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

But it's just creepy moments like that I will always say Peter should never even be civil with Osborn.
Sins gone or not. Zeb Wells pulling that Norman was like a father to Peter is such crap. Crap that even the Raimi movies disregarded with Peter bluntly saying Ben was his father.
Heck Peter never even met Norman until he unmasked himself and by that time Peter was a grown man in college. So Zeb is just admitting he never read the 70s comics marvel is so obsessed with staying true to.
Nick Spencer put it best with Norman and Peter he's nothing to Peter's but his crazy self destructive friend's evil father.
Yeah, that’s why I warned you about that panel. Even as someone who likes Osborn as a villain, Peter should never say Norman was a good father to him.
This is just such a dumb plot line, but I’m morbidly curious to see where the Peter who norms is going.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"The only way I will accept this run is if they reveal at the end "Peter" was a skrull that got a rushed memory and power job. Just to explain how OOC and weak he is.
Yep I will literally take a Secret Invasion II electric boogaloo for some MCU synergy.
Speaking of MCU, I don't wanna hear anymore Iron Man Jr complaints after this run. I will take a billion alt universes where Peter was a Tony Stark fanboy then 1 where he even liked Norman Osborn.
At this point, I'm just going to assume that Mephisto has been tampering with Peter's memories again off-panel, making him think that Norman was ever fatherly toward him. Why would Mephisto bother with this, you ask? I don't know, maybe Hammerhead or Jeff the Land Shark laid a curse on Peter or something.
"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionaryExcept even in the Raimi movies Peter barely knew Norman whose kindness to Peter was just him shitting on Harry.
With the ending being Peter rejecting the idea Norman was any sort of father figure.
Otto was more a genuine friend/mentor figure to Peter before his accident in both the Raimi movie and TAS.

I'll only accept this run if it's this or it's some VR memory thing shared by Peter, MJ, Norman, Ben, Kamala run by Beyond.
...Yeah, the second scenario barely makes sense by now, but I digress.
Man, even when Zeb's leaning on the Raimi movies, it's still inaccurate because of what you just said. Guy really is writing fan fic at this point.
Jeff the land shark is a cinnamon roll and would never put a voodoo curse on Peter!
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI cited the Raimi movies because otherwise Wells is implying the story where Norman mentally tortured Peter in addition to actual physical torture AFTER MJ was thought to be dead, to be unironically good fathering and something Peter looks back on fondly.
Even in the Raimi movies, the nicest thing Norman did for Peter out of costume was congratulating him on winning the science award.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"![]()
Good point. I doubt Marvel editorial are so foolish as to completely derail such a beloved yet non-household-name character like Jeff. That just leaves Hammerhead, then.

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionarySeriously. The unsettling air that hangs over 616 Spidey because of the deal with Mephisto makes it hard to enjoy 616 for me at least. Since Spidey and all the other heroes are living in a reality altered by Mephisto and can never undo it because of editorial.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"On a slight tangent...
Have we had Jeff vs. Hammerhead vs. Tiger Shark vs. Shark Girl yet? Possibly with an Alliance of Alternates mixed in.
Why should the ever-growing army of Spider-Folk have all the fun...
The Shark-Verse starts here. Probably with a bunch of confused Spiders sitting on the sidelines (...or staying out of the water) with a "...what?".
The funny thing is if you removed the tumor of a Norman plot, I really like the old fashioned gang war storyline.
Another reason why Wilson Fisk was A Lighter Shade of Black.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.

Does Peter have a job currently?
Edit: oh right, Norman gave him a job
