This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

x2 Putting aside how Marvel/Disney definitely wouldn't do a beat-for-beat adaptation (the two stints as a soldier, the loss of his legs, basically the entirety of Rick Remender's Venom, etc) I doubt any show would have eight seasons even for a lucrative IP like Spider-Man (see: the last 2 non-preschooler cartoons).
Spec actually predates Agent Venom: the first episode premiered in March of 2008
while Flash's first appearance as Agent Venom was in February 2011
(which itself was first published over a year after the last episode premiered).

Tbf the previous two cartoons did have Flash become Venom. And I wouldn't be shocked if Insomniac had him take the role too. You don't need to adapt everything. Thats why you distill stuff.
Huh. I actually forgot this wasn't that long ago. I guess it's become such an iconic thing for Flash. That you forgot his only been 10 years.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."@Red Hunter 53 I've said it before MCU Flash is the same case as DCEU's Luthor
They cast the perfect actor in the wrong role.
Anthony Revolori would be perfect as Harry Osborn because Harry was the whiny rich kid whose father openly despised and was openly antagonistic with Peter initially like MCU!Flash
Jesse Eisenberg was a terrible Luthor but a perfect Riddler. Because Riddler is that annoying know it all you wanna slap but is incredibly dangerous with his plans.
I would personally prefer Lee-Ditko Norman Osborn to be adapted into the big screen instead of an approximation of his mentally ill stricken with amnesia phase during the Lee-Romita era.
Give me sane chess master corrupt businessman Norman who is also in sync with the Green Goblin in wanting to take over crime. That's the perfect arch-enemy to Spider-Man.
I like the Raimi Norman but I'd don't see it as so definitive as to scare people off from another version of Norman Osborn on the big screen.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Kraven has transferred some of Kafka's sinful blood onto his spear, he thinks he's liberated his new sexual partner but Kafka isn't so sure, and thinks only by giving them back to Norman can that be so. Felicia calls Peter wanting to check in on him after their break up, Peter tells her Randy and Janice are on the rocks and he's going to try and help them with the help of Janice's lawyer friend Michelle. Felicia asks if it's a date, Peter denies it, and then asks why, and Felicia responds that she finds Michelle hot.
So MCU synergy right? Peter potentially getting a new girlfriend named after the Tom Holland movie love interest
What if it ends up as a consensual polyamorous relationship between all three of them?
Listen they'll never do a two girl one guy polygamy with Spider-Man despite teasing the Betty and Veronica dynamic with MJ and Felicia for decades.
1. No romantic rival means less drama for Peter. Something Marvel will never allow
2. Peter has to be miserable, according to marvel, and having two sexy wives doesn't leave much room for complaints.
3. Twitter will cry about it being sexist and appealing to the male fantasy.
The x books can’t even explicitly confirm that Jean is nailing Scott and Logan last I heard
No way “gotta be relatable to an imaginary demographic” Spider-Man is allowed
Forever liveblogging the AvengersTo be fair, we can see Jean naked in a hot tub with Logan one day and then living with Scott another.
You'd think that would make Scott and Emma okay but apparently she doesn't like to share.
Which, fair enough.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Nah let Scott bang Emma if Logan is gonna be raw dogging Jean.

Plus let's be honest here we all know why Marvel would not wanna admit the Logan/Jean/Cyclops poly couple.
Frankly I never liked the idea because I've always been of the opinion Scott would be better off if he just cut Jean and Wolverine out of his life entirely.
This is the same man who had a loving wife and child with Madeyln but abandoned both the second Jean ressurected.
That's not love, that a dangerous obsession and all around bastard move.
No amount of "polygamy solves everything" shipping can change that.

I love shitting on Scott but there was a bit of nuance there that gets forgotten. He went to check out to see if Jean was actually resurrected (admittedly crossing the country and not telling his wife), only to be unable to contact her via phone when he got there and when he returned found the home empty (because Mr. Sinister stole all of her belongings and killed her fake family).
Scott assumed she'd left him.
Madelyne had gone to the X-men to find out where Scott had gone (assuming he was with them instead of X-Factor) and then they were unable to be found due to magic, her included.
It's his shitty treatment of his wife after she was Brainwashed and Crazy that actually deserves the most condemnation. He keeps trying to rewrite her as in her right mind and an Evil Clone versus being possessed by black magic like so many other X-men have over the years.

Really? So I guess outside of him not telling her where he was going (which is a dick move, but you can kinda get why he did it), Scott didn't quite hang Maddy out to dry like we've been lead to believe then.
But I recall he did see her when she sacrificed herself alongside the X-Men on TV didn't he?
One Strip! One Strip!
I'm pretty sure he did. And he also didn't immediately go back to being in a relationship with Jean. It took them months to start dating again.
The real reason why Scott never went back to Madelyne after going to check if Jean was really alive was that Claremont threw a tantrum and refused to allow it, so the writers had to come up with various flimsy in-universe explanations for them to be kept apart.
To take this back to Spider-Man, if I had to introduce Michelle Jones to the comics, I would make her Mary Jane's teenage cousin (yes I know she already has one of those but comics give people new relatives all the time) rather than a love interest for Peter.

Wonder if spectacular would ever have covered it down to him becoming Agent Venom.
