This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

What's worse is that Superior references Kraven's Last Hunt in the Peter's memories are becoming Otto's sequence.
So Slott is basically telling us, "yeah MJ should definitely know what's up but just ignore it for plot and Mephitso OMD reasons".
I'd be more forgiving to Wells if he hasn't gone in most interview saying. "Yeah this is all my idea and Lowe is enthusiasticly giving me the thumbs up."

Nah, we all know that Peter specifically isn't allowed to sell drugs... unless he's wearing the symbiote. Then it's apparently okay by Marvel.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonWait. He helped Rabin? I thought he was just atoning due to basic Sins of the Father stuff.
I feel an uncanny urge to defend Paul the more people hate him, despite knowing he kinda deserves it, but if he really helped then that just makes him look worse.
One Strip! One Strip! Its funny that the disconnect between wrestling box office robber and house burglar The Burglar is so big that various things have been written trying to justify it. One of them was that coincidentally, the house of the dude that let him get away with one robbery had a secret cash trove in it. And because Peter can't have nice things, it turned out that the cash had been destroyed by silverfish so it was all for nothing.
I think another version had the Burglar recognize Peter and follow him back to Forest Hills and broke into the house to try to form a partnership with him, making it a more direct connection between Peter's indifference to stopping a non violent crime and the violent death of his father figure

There was one where he robbed the house next door and Mary Jane was killed, though I don't remember the specifics of that issue.
For what it's worth Joe Chill was just a thug most of the time too, though sometimes he was acting on orders.

The Protomen enhanced my life.

This is one of many reasons why I can't take Superior Spider-Man as anything but a bad joke. I know that suspension of disbelief is sometimes needed to make a story work, but when you're asking me to just ignore that large swathes of characters (including many who deeply and intimately know Peter) are acting like babbling imbeciles, than you're basically asking me to drop all standards for a work you're asking money for, which is asinine to me.
The hands are only as good as the brain will let them be. Much like Henry Cavill is a great actor for Superman who was held back by an ill-suited director, any good Spider-Man writer will be held back by editors who don't want them to write anything outside of their extremely narrow and specific vision for the IP, I mean money-maker, I mean character.
You can be the best comic writer in history, but if your boss tells you to write fifty issues of the main character accidently selling heroin to a middle schooler and then being kicked in the balls by everyone in New York, well there's only so much you can do with that premise.
Restrictions can make a good work, make authors think outside the box, but they can also deflate any potentially interesting idea because there is so little to actually write.
