This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Ben: Paul, Rabin, fake kids and Ms. Marvel dead? Pete I think you hit your head harder than we thought man.
Peter: And you turned evil and called yourself Chasm!
Ben: PFFFFFFT! Chasm? Chasm? Okay, now I really know you hit your head harder than we thought! Because Pete, I'm not planning on it at all, but if I was ever going to go bad again, I'm pretty sure I'd be calling myself something cooler than "Chasm"!
Peter: Okay, like what?
Ben: ...Good question. Let me get back to you on that one.
Peter: Preferably when you don't go bad again?
Ben: ...Yeah, that'd be smart.
Dan Slott recently got engaged. Unfortunately, some Peter/MJ fans are being assholes about it and make the worst kind of comments
.
Chat is kind of hilarious because, for all intents and purposes, Spider-Man was dating a civilian Squirrel Girl.
And it was surprisingly wholesome.
Fans are the worst. Even when they're right, they're the worst.
Fans: "Doctor Doom wouldn't mourn 9/11!"
Traumatized Marvel New Yorkers: "THAT WAS NOT THE POINT!"

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. The famous Thor/Ultron "would have words with thee" line, mentioned a little while ago on the main Marvel thread, is from that time Ultron and Alkhema exterminated the entire European nation of Slorenia.
I believe Secret Empire killed (almost?) everyone in Las Vegas. At least until Doctor Strange resurrected the city.
I'm mostly just surprised by how stable the typical Marvel civilian is. It's a scary world.

For a while, most of the US either didn’t believe superheroes were real or thought they were just a wacky New York thing
And Squirrel Girl met a superhero truther who thinks superheroes are a government conspiracy
So I assume a lot of them get through it via denial
Some civilians instead choose to just be the worst. Trying to mob violence mutants or blaming superheroes for everything.
And others choose ironic detachment
Not much different than the flaming dumpster fire that is the real world
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHe's a guy who came out of nowhere to date Mary Jane, gets trapped in an alternate dimension with her where time passes faster, and then they marry as well as have kids. Except they're not married and the kids are adopted.
Then revealed to be fake.
And then Paul was revealed to be bigoted against Mutants.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.![]()
Basically, Paul is a guy who helped his father commit mass genocide in another dimension. He spent years there fending off demons. In 616, another version of his father, who was introduced by Zeb Wells back in 2008, broke out of prison and sought out Spider-Man intending to 'mark' him and use his blood in a ritual to his god Wyebb.
Peter and MJ get transported by Rabin to Paul's dimension and connect with Paul, Mary Jane sends Peter back home using a teleportation device that can only carry one, and she helps Paul fend off Rabin in the dimension while Peter burns every bridge he has to try and get back to them, eventually enlisting Norman Osborn's help and stealing from the Fantastic Four.
Mary Jane is then binded to mystical chains by Rabin, and she and Paul find and begin raising two foster kids. Paul eventually confesses to her that he is Rabin's son and the two begin to bond with one another (it's never flat out confirmed this relationship is romantic in any way), Paul develops a special watch for MJ which allows her to tap into specific powers that are generated by lucky slots. If she draws three skull slotts, something bad might happen.
After Peter rescues Paul, MJ and the kids, MJ tells Peter she can't just break things off with the family and she has to end things with Peter for the sake of her responsibilities to them (this is how it's supposed to be conveyed if you read everything in full context, unfortunately the actual execution of the writing is terrible and she comes off worse than this)
Peter doesn't process this well, even punching out Paul at a later point, he eventually deduces Paul is Rabin's son and confronts him, and MJ admits she already knows, then tells Peter that Paul is trying to atone and that he reminds her of Peter's guilt with Uncle Ben.
Rabin eventually returns to 616 and goes after MJ, he reveals her children are the mystical chains and removes them from existence. Kamala Khan sacrifices herself disguised as Mary Jane and Rabin is killed by his gods for failing them.
MJ is still with Paul, but it's heavily implied that nothing he does is helping her, and this week it's revealed she and Peter are rebuilding their friendship, Paul admitting that Peter is making MJ happy again.

I can't believe this convoluted asinine story is making me miss Pedro the firefighter as MJ's boyfriend.
His story?
Just a simple firefighter who rescued MJ from a burning building then started dating her.
This was when Otto took over Peter's body decided that MJ was a weakness holding Peter back so opted to leave her to die.
MJ, dumbly couldn't tell this was Peter. Despite back in Kraven's Last Hunt she knew instantly the Russian wasn't her husband because of how vicous he was. Which was exactly Otto's gimmick as Peter spider-man but vicous and calculating.
