This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

What was Dick doing in the Marvel Universe (not changing my phrasing)?
What was Angelica doing in the DC Universe (and inside Dick! Hey yo!!!)?
One Strip! One Strip!I think perhaps the sickest retcon, even worse than One More Day was when Mulitple Man and Siren hooked up and had a kid in Peter David's "X-Factor." Then right as their child was born, Multiple Man absorbed it.
"Oops, must have just been a duplicate of mine all along."
That's some insanity inducing shit.

Poor Multiple Man and Siren :(
The Protomen enhanced my life.True.
Instead, what I meant was Status Quo Is God. There have been many traumatizing, horrifying, and downright mean methods of breaking up couples as well as getting rid of unwanted children in the franchise.

Agreed. And I think solo heroes like Peter, who are the face of a franchise, get hit by that especially hard.
Members of teams get more flexibility, especially second-stringers like Tigra, where Marvel are more willing to shake things up and see if they hit a formula that builds the character's following.
When a character is already successful, they get risk-averse.
I figure she's safe. Luke and Jessica are both kinda in the B-list sweet spot - popular enough to be unlikely to be cheap fodder, and to be resurrected if they do get killed, while not so popular that they're not allowed to change and grow. Add to that, them being married with a kid has been their status quo for a long time now. Most of Jessica's existence, really. She's spent more time as a mother than not.
And Dani is pretty popular in her own right, both as a toddler and her future Captain America self.
I can't see anyone at Marvel really wanting to change those things. Luke and Jessica are both able to have their own stories, and they can have stories together. Jessica gets to do her private detective stuff, Luke gets to do his hero of the people stuff, and both get to do parent stuff. There's options available for anyone who wants to write them.
So, yeah, I don't see much chance of something happening to Dani Cage.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.
A few times. Amazing Spider-Man annual #5 established that Peter's parents' deaths were due to one of the Skull's schemes. I think some 1990s comics revisited that idea.
All of which reminds me... isn't it odd that so few Spider-Verse variants of Peter are raised by his parents, not May and Ben? It feels like one of the obvious variations...?
It's mentioned in the PS4 game, when you find the backpack containing a locket with their photos in it.

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionaryOn a different topic, is anyone reading the Edge of Venomverse Unlimited Infinity Comic?
I'm pretty meh about it, especially as it replaced the cancelled Spider-Verse series, which I was mostly enjoying,
Whereas Spider-Verse was mostly standalone stories featuring the various spiders, Venomverse seems very focused on short prologues for the upcoming Bat Family Crossover.
Meet a new Venom! Will they be recruited, or will they be killed by a Carnage? And next issue we repeat that scenario with a new Venom and a new world...

Yeah never liked the Parker's were Shield agents plotline. Was kinda okay with them being genius scientists in TASM but that film leaned heavy into the sci-fi.
Same with Miles' dad the shield agent. Keep in a cop onto becoming a police captain. Uncle Aron makes a good Prowler.
Shame it takes the spotlight from Hobbie.
Spoilers for the ASM annual made their way over to forums
Paul and MJ are still together, they throw a party for Aunt Anna. Paul and MJ are living with Anna now. As demonstrated in the preview, Anna is affected by the Krakoa drugs and attacks MJ, MJ fends her off with the aid of sleeping pills, Peter comes back in time and helps, so does Paul. Anna is sent to Ravencroft. There is a tease that Paul is against mutants as he blames them for Anna's condition.
