This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I admit, it's weird but it's why I was okay with the Superior Spider-Man. After all of the Norman shilling, it felt like Doctor Octopus was getting a chance to show why he was the undisputed Superior Spider-Man villain.
If rumors are true about Spidey 4 Spider-Man and him are starting dating again.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Well @Charles like this is my honest experience since I don't really hate Kingpin at all, but in most of the stuff he's been in for me growing up, he's just overshadowed or a wannabe.
Like Back in black, he gets humiliated by a pissed off Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man, he feels like a filler villain keeping the bench warm for Norman, the Spider-Man game I played had Green Goblin play Eviler than Thou to him, the PS 4 Spidey game, he's defeated in the tutorial and is overshadowed by Doc Ock and Mr.Negative.
Even in Superior, he loses to Doc Ock who in turn gets destroyed by Green Goblin.
Like I said, there's a lot of stuff that cements the Green Goblin as the greatest Spider-Man villain and more fun to watch. Kingpin and Doc Ock just feel boring compared to him to me personally.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"One reason I forgive much about Spencer's Spider-Man (aside from Superior Foes references, Sins Past retcon, and the humor) is the DARK REIGN kingpin does Fisk well. While I never buy him kneeling to Kindred, I liked that he outright won as well as became Mayor of New York for awhile.

Mary Jane and Aunt Anna appear...no Paul, and Anna is affected by the Krakoan kill switch, having been using the drugs lately
@Redhunter 53 that bit with Doc Ock being the semi arch nemesis was Peter still thinking Norman banged Gwen Stacy instead of Mysterio in a whig.
I think after having a private laugh Otto is back on top a arch nemesis.
The latest Venom issue showed that Toxin is still bonded to Bren. The current Cult of Carnage run showed that Toxin was part of Alchemax's containment alongside the Life Foundation symbiotes, and not only did it not explain him being there the latest issue now has him bonded to some rando Life Foundation goon.
Lame.
#IceBearForPresidentHonestly, Norman Osborn suffering guilt because of a magic sin eating shotgun is stupid AF, but in the Wells run where Spidey goes through some bullshit, Gobby is the most compelling character in the run.
It kind of helps I don’t really see 616 Spidey as real after OMD.
I hate that Gold Goblin is as good as it is, because I am starved for decent Spider-content in the comics.
I might reread Spider-Girl.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Reminder Post OMD Peter and MJ brainwashed themselves into never being able to marry each other and have kids (sorry Mayday) or remember the deal they made.
All to keep Aunt May alive (against her wishes mind you) to clear Peter's guilty conscience.
Yeah screw Quesada for ruining JMS' otherwise good run with Sins Past and OMD.
I had no interest in Spider-Man after OMD until Spencer's Run. There, he mitigated as much damage as possible and had Mary Jane and Peter reconcile. He also had Doctor Strange figure SOMETHING was wrong with Peter.
I'm still hoping for a retcon that Mephisto "broke the rules" and brainwashed Peter and MJ into accepting the deal.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I love Spencer's run so a big part of me who has resisted OMD/BND/Slott era being canon kind of begrudingly accepts that they happened, but only if you treat it as the Grand Finale of 616 Spider-Man and refuse to count anything past that point.
I don't have a 'real' canon for Spidey, I love newspaper, Renew Your Vows, and Spider-Girl all equally as positive status quos for Peter and MJ

It might have something to do with the fact Doc Ock lost control of his tentacles because of Spider-Man and that lead to Stacy dying, which is kind of fucked really.
