This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I’m so tired of Kamala’s parents getting mind wiped. It’s only happened twice but both times associated with disappointing changes in direction for the character

How does she overcome the No powers no training thing? How the hell do she and Harry defeat a green goblin?

Forever liveblogging the AvengersAunt May squats vampire like in the center of the mythos, draining others to stay alive
Although at least she’s not doing it on purpose. She’s like please let me die I’ve been 90 for sixty years!

Have we had an actual undead Death Seeker May yet? Because I would absolutely read that story.
So that makes three times the comics chose to destroy Peter's chance at a family in favor of keeping his elderly aunt alive
Norman killing Gwen Stacy
Norman killing Mayday
Mephisto erasing the marriage and any potential of Mayday coming back
Yet the MCU, Insomniac game and Spiderverse all allowed Aunt May to die and were better for it.
Though I gotta admit the MCU was the biggest gut punch (besides that May being the youngest version yet). Really had me cheering on Holland!Spider-Man to beat Dafoe!Goblin to death.
Funniest thing about Aunt May, Gwen pointed out that her coddling of Peter wasn't allowing him to grow up.
Oh how right she was.....

Nah. Even in Marvel Zombies she was totally eaten alive rather than turning.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThe MCU really hates recasting... unless it's Rhodey. Or Banner. Or Thunderbolt Ross.
They're really inconsistent about that.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonSee Rhodey, Banner and Ross are easy because they were early on before the franchise blew up.
Now these are established faces where the general public recognize these guys as the characters.
Honestly speaking of the MCU my only gripe with the Spider-Man movies was Tony Revolori's Flash.
Like Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor making for a better Riddler, Revolori's Flash made for a much better Harry Osborn.
Rich Dweeb Originally a bully to Peter Only popular because of rich parents
I really think the directors chose him to be Flash because out of all Peter's bullies from the Ditko days (Gwen, Harry and Flash) only the mainstream remembers Flash and continues to use him in adaptations.
Despite Flash being a much better friend to Peter in adulthood then Harry. Literally sacrifice his life to save Peter and Venom in the Red Goblin Fight.
The first two, yes, but Ross was recast this year after having popped back up as a recurring character since 2016 still played by William Hurt.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThe thing with MCU Flash is they wanted him to be a "modern" version of a bully, so since Peter is in a magnetic school he was changed to more of an intellectual snob than your archetypal jerk jock.
Which even disregarding the the possibility of Agent Venom, I can't see this guy joining the army. He's too much of a wimp.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."

Sooooo...I guess that Fallen Friend one-shot is already rendered 50% pointless? If Emma wipes the superheroes' memories of the same past few days, then it'll be 100% pointless, but I'll bet it won't come to that. I'll bet at the very least that Miles and Sam will be like "Holy $@!#" when they catch wind of this.
