This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Granted there are perfectly valid reasons for disliking the whole Iron Boy Jr. status of the MCU beyond it being "different'.
Its just NWH removed those aspects in the most fucked up manor possible. I would have preferred just ignoring the Iron Man stuff and let Peter stand on his own without doing a mindwipe.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I don't have to like it but I absolutely hate that they're choosing to ignore it.
I have a hundred different versions of Spider-Man in my brain, a different one doesn't hurt the other ones.
Besides, Tony is DEAD, it's not like Peter can go to him for a loan now.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Really @Handsome Rob this is more of a dark retelling of "What if Peter saved Gwen Stacy?"
Where Peter did catapult himself down save Gwen and use himself as a cushion so both could survive the fall.
Only bad thing that happened there was Peter's identity got leaked and he went on the run.
IIRC in that What If Aunt May got a heart attack too cause everything was revealed at Peter and Gwen's wedding.
I'm kinda sad that universe was never followed up on again; it had some really good character moments and the ending begs for a continuation.
Here's
some
short recaps, and we have one too.

The Protomen enhanced my life. Not a heart attack she just fainted from shock.
Frankly that is just in a slightly better place than Daredevil in Born Again
As he got his identity revealed, apartment blown up, attorney license revoked and Karen Page addicted to drugs and now a prostitute.
So Matt has a full on nervous breakdown there.
It would have been fun seeing that Peter and Matt bond while trying to recover their lives.
Judging from the Spider-Gwen picture in the cover page, she's going to become a Spider hero herself somehow, probably to avenge Peter.
Now, how she's going to do that is a mystery. Gwen has no idea how Peter even got his powers.
One Strip! One Strip!Starting to think you might like Punisher Spidey.
Though you do forget that the story ends with Harry swearing revenge on Punisher Spidey, so not exactly out of the woods there for Peter, and regular Punisher is showing up.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I do find it funny how in the what if where Spider-Man kills Fisk, that version goes to jail.
Granted, by super hero logic, Norman does have a decent shot at coming back to life in the Punisher Spidey verse considering the Goblin formula and how that story is slavishly devoted to repeating story beats despite logic, assuming it ever gets a sequel.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Nah it ends with a half dead Frank stumbling upon Peter's Skull costume and guns.
So if anything Harry's gonna assume Frank is just the Punishing Spider without the mask on now.
As Peter pretty much abandoned the mask and skipped town with Gwen.
And yes until Zeb and writes Peter as something other than a pathetic manchild who can't fight his way out of a paper bag Punisher!Peter is the Goat.
Eh Norman comes back Peter will just kill him again though wondering how the Goblin formula will save him from exploding round literally blowing up his chest, drowning in the water for several hours before the authorities salvaged his corpse.

Renew your vows and MC 2 Spidey is GOAT for me.
Personally, I like heroes like Red Hood Jason Todd, but Punisher Spidey just feels mean spirited to regular Spidey.
I'd probably like it a bit better if they had a better divergence point for Spidey other than getting a darker costume awakened Peter's murder impulses somehow.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Look, as much as I'd love to debate this, we're mostly going in circles at this point and we've all made our stances clear, so let's move on to something else.
Anyone remember untold tales of Spider-Man? Or any other good Spider-Man run they are fond of?

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Yeah, I was planning on reading that one. I hear Jameson and Peter become a crime fighting duo.
Spencer's run has shown me how oddly endearing those two are as allies and friends.
Even the Wells run hasn't removed that part.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

Tom Holland's Peter couldn't escape the canon events. I'm joking, I don't think Spider-Verse lore influences the MCU but it's funny that the Spider-Man fans who disliked or outright hated MCU Spidey for being too different were called out by ATSV.
