This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

To be fair, "random weird thing happens" is a perfectly valid take for a comic run.
A guy is given a comic and does something insane to get new readers is a tried and classic formula.
If I was given, say, Iron Fist, I would do something insane like have him become a time traveling space hero.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I dunno, I think that ship sailed when suddenly the Symbiotes have a god that is the Anti God.

I mean, basically every single thing Jason Aaron has done involving the Phoenix sucked. (The one exception was Logan turning Phoenix at the end of that Spider-Man/Wolverine mini, and the only reason that worked at all was because it was used as a relationship beat for Logan and Peter. But then Aaron decided he liked the idea of Logan as Phoenix and started throwing him into everything he did.)
Clearly, we need to give Spider-Man the Phoenix Force.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"@ Red Hunter 543: Granted, it kinda happened before, what with Spidey once briefly using a device taken from an android of Rachel Summers to become "Spider-Phoenix" for all of ten seconds or so (which itself happened in an Arcade-made simulation that Peter and Brian Braddock, then Captain Britain, had gotten trapped inside), so at least there's precedent for it (and it got to appear as an unlockable costume in Spider-Man 2 – Enter: Electro).

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's Dictionary![]()
Most of the good, non-Goblin villains were already in the previous game, so it wasn't much of a contest. I mean, could you imagine if Shocker was the main villain instead of just the first boss?

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionaryOh okay I think I get it.
Presumably Torunn is being brought in to replace Ram V's section of the book, as the latter has recently signed a 2 contract with DC.
So bringing in Widow is prolly her addition to the book.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'm all for symbiotes. They're my favorite corner of the Marvel universe.
But I wish they would use the ones they have rather than introduce a new one every other month.
Scream had a good run starting only to be replaced with Silence, Toxin keeps getting shunted back and forth, the Life Foundation symbiotes either basically don't exist or just get turned into Hybrid, there never was a follow-up on Plague, etc. Oh and Misery is now randomly a thing.

Could have something to do with Ram V's departure. Now that Ram is exclusive to DC again, it could have scuppered any collaborative ideas they had for when they eventually brought their stories together
