This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I mean the original one shot starts with a jealous and protective MJ not even wanting Black Cat to visit Peter in the hospital during the beyond arc.
Then Wells has MJ cheat on and leave Peter for Paul so MJ now comes off as a hypocrite we're supposed to root got in this new mini series.
Which goes back to my earlier statement MJ has become a tool for the writers and not an actual character.
Even the new "Jackpot" persona is just another way for writers to keep MJ around without having her be with Peter.
I don't because it's telling me the writer can't do proper interpersonal drama with Peter's personal life so they are making all his supporting cast into superheroes.
Plus it's relation to the Paul saga annoys me on a deep level and run in conflict with my one wish post Zeb Wells.
Everyone in universe forgets this run ever happened and we go back to where Nick Spencer left off.
It has been the definition of cheap drama. Literally killing off Ms. Marvel just to publicly announce her resurrection as an x-men weeks later.
I don’t have any problems with the concept. I’m just not that excited about her getting jackpot powers because she said an iconic line decades ago
Give her the power to shoot tigers out of her fingertips and then we’ll talk
Forever liveblogging the Avengers![]()
I mean that's more Jimmy getting into tons of wacky antics but he's never really been a superhero to that degree.
He gets transformed into monsters like turtle boy but this whole thing with Jackpot is something else entirely.

Yeah its an issue with modern superheroes, not helped by how a lot of Superheroes only ever associate with other superheroes especially romantically.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."News coming out of San Diego
-As expected, a new Superior Spider-Man ongoing is launching in November, Slott and Mark Bagley are the creative team. That means Slott is doing multiple books gain. Christos Gage ain't gonna go hungry
-Tom De Falco and Pat Ollife are reuniting for a Secret Wars 40th anniversary special set on Battleworld just as Peter first aqquired the symbiote
-Al Ewing has quietly departed Venom and they've tossed out the current plot entirely so the new writer, Torunn Gronbekk, can replace Eddie in the role with the Black Widow.
Wait what about Venom?
"Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow, Will Stay The New Venom Well Into 2024"

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie.""Christos Gage ain't gonna go hungry" That is some solid shade on Slott, bravo.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Okay this Venom news has made me shockingly ill.
Like I have been able to keep a healthy degree of emotional detachment from the current shitshow with Peter, but I was actually enjoyed Venom so this hurts a lot wow.
Ewing is gone, replaced by a mediocre writer, and Black Widow a character I have never particularly liked is possibly replacing Eddie. I don't know which is worse, this is very fowl news overall.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."

I really enjoy the Mary Jane and Black Cat series.
I would read the hell out of a Mary Jane ongoing.
Of course, Marvel never noticed that DC ran a Lois Lane comic for like 20 years.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.
