This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Bringing a different topic for a moment, for a change of pace, the Octopus Girl manga (for those that forgot, its the story where Doc Ock's mind gets sent to the body of a japanese middle schooler and have to now share it) has confirmed that the series shares some continuity with the Deadpool manga, with the appearance of Sakura Spider and even a flashback with Deadpool in it. However, she got isekai'd to a different Japan, so is now teaming with otoha and Doc Ock, so no cameo for All Might from My Hero Academia (despite the series being done by the team that did a My Hero spin-off
).
Considering the manga is part of the promotion for Across the Spider-verse, it would be nice if Sakura Spider could make a cameo in Beyond the Spider-verse, though i did find out se made a cameo in a recent spider-event.

Octopus girl is barely starting, being by-weekly and just in chapter 3, so its introducing its main characters aside from the ones mentioned before, given the names of some characters, there will probably will be schoolgirl versions of the rest of the Sinister Six, but its just a hint for the moment.
On the other hand, the world from Deadpool: Samurai has the official designation of Earth-346, and that is where Sakura Spider is originally for. Also, while writing my previous comment, I discovered she also appered in a chapter of Edge of the Spider-verse, so they brought her over for something I haven't read, which resulted in her being lost in a different Tokio (aka, Octopus girl world). I will add an image of her that I found in the wiki:

So 🕷 becomes the Goblin
All I can say is Spider-Girl did it first and better with a greater emotional payoff.
Also
to go back to my point of "good arching" even body swapping is classic hokey villainy. It's so absurd and unrealistic you have to laugh at it. Dr Doom literally stole Daredevil's body to sabatodge the FF 4 back in the day only to be surprised he stole the body of a blind guy.
Superior Spider-Man just became infamous to fans because it extended a simple 1-2 issue plot to 33 issues.
True but the Flash did sleep with Tala when Lex swapped bodies with him in JLU.
She was more disappointed at Lex's return and revelation it was the Flash and not "Luthor with brain damage" like they believed.
Heck Anna Maria put two and two together that "Peter" was Spider-Man but not Peter was Otto. She sorted out all this new information in a few hours by herself baking then became Peter's confidant helping him run Otto's company while still thinking highly of Otto.
Slott, like with Silk, didn't really of the implications of writing Otto's humanizing romance with Anna Maria.
As I said before body swapping is a hokey absurd sciencs fiction plot in itself.
Actually, it's more a Fusion Dance as the only reason Otto is the Superior Spider-Man is because Peter's ghost is influencing him to be a better person.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. The story itself goes with the idea that the Peter there is a memory copy of the real Peter that died in Doc Ock's body according to Ock himself.
And no, Anna was PISSED when she met up with Doc Ock in the start of Vol 2 especially about the rape by fraud thing. She didn't piece things together, she was told everything by Peter once he reclaimed his body.
What the hell does Flash in Lex's body have to do with this? Tala KNEW that Flash was in Lex's body, that's different than Otto in Peter's body with Anna.
Also the idea of Peter being there in some form while Doc Ock was using his body to have sex is technically rape since Peter isn't consenting to his body being used like this.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Well for what it's worth, in the Clone Conspiracy, when Ben does clone Doc Ock, it's Peter who is in it.
That kind of implies that Peter's soul was revived, assuming we DO take Ben's claims that the clones are the real deals revived.
A memory copy in this context would mean Otto's own perception and memories of Peter Parker are what's currently occupying Spider-Man's body, not Peter himself.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I literally said that she figured out "Peter" was Spider-Man not that Otto was Peter and Peter explained everything to her then she left to sort out the information while baking to calm herself down.
She still thought highly of Otto as Peter was poor at running the company. Even later bonded with a robot that had his memories and was with Otto up until he made the deal with Mephisto to reset back to his old self.
So again Dan Slott really wasn't thinking hard on any sexual assault implications as we are rn.
But I honestly thought Otto's story should have ended when he gave Spidey back control of his body.
Also nope in JLU after Wally and Tala do the deed she is giddy afterwards saying "Lex" has never been so "enthusiastic" with her.
The only villain that knew what was up was Grodd but kept quiet for the laughs.
So I don't think the late great Dwayne Mc Duffie was thinking anything beyond Lex is crap in bed with that sly adult joke.
Even then if Tala did know, like in WW 84, that still taking Lex's body and using it for sex. So cleary not respecting Luthor bodily automony.
See how bad this goes if we think to much on a dumb body swapping plot line. A memorable funny episode of JLU becomes an episode of SVU.

And I said that Anna was pissed when she met with Otto later on in Superior volume 2. She respects Ock but does not actually like him till he makes amends for his various crimes.
Hell, Anna actually insists Otto reveal his true identity to the latest girl he's dating to avoid rape by fraud. Like the other writers realized what Slott wrote and missed, so they actually address it.
Tala knows that Lex is actually the Flash, that's the difference. It's still creepy though, don't get me wrong.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Oh no Tala like the other villains really thought "Lex" fried his brain trying to get into Grodd mind to unlock Braniac.
After "Lex" went over the heist plan Tala dragged "Lex" to the room to "help him rest"
Infact none of the other villains realize it's Flash until the real Luthor radios in and reveals the truth.
Lex even calling them idiots at the end.
Its extremely hilarious how Grodd and Luthor were right that the other villains were twits without them.

I think that if Otto had stayed as Peter for the rest of his life and didn't give the body back, at some point he would be who he's pretending to be, right? At least to people who don't know him.
I think sometimes the meta perspective of knowing things won't last can clash with what the characters know.
Nah it's because he ain't Paul.
Because I've come to a revelation. MJ really has no character post the 90s. In the sense whatever writer is in charge will morph MJ to either the perfect ride or die wife, nag, or girl that will leave Peter at the drop of the hat.
She's stopped being a character and just became a tool of the writers to cause Peter stress and instability in his life with the will they won't they melodrama.
I mean, she was a great character in JMS Spidey barring Sins Past, and I really liked her in Spencer's run.
And her own series. She's got an oddly compelling friendship with Mysterio.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

Do it now before Peter starts kicking them (or maybe throwing them off bridges).
