This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Damian is still been going strong as a teenager even though his bro Jon is legally allowed to drink now.
Though I still don't like DC breaking up the super sons having Jon in the injustice universe makes for an intriguing story. As Joker literally killed him and his mom there causing Clark to snap.
I like that DC can committ to their decisions.
Main universe: Give Superman a family after years of stringing along Lois.
Injustice: Joker kills Superman's family, dies for it and the story continues from there.
Spider-Man just constantly keeps backpeddling. Norman literally killed Mayday in 616 but no writer beyond Mark Miller will nut up and acknowledge it.
MC 2: Kaine pulls the biggest face turn and goes on a one man rescue mission to save baby Mayday.

Well that doesn't necessarily have to remain. Just that there needs to be more of a willingness by fans of the flagship stuff to:
A. Drop a title if they find the creative direction unenjoyable. And...
B. Trying titles that have what one wants whether it's well mainly in this case books that move ahead.
DC used to HATE messing with the status quo even more than Marvel. Did you know that Supergirl was once so hated by DC Editorial they actually made it so she was "Superman's Secret Weapon" so she would never show up in the actual mainstream Superman comics. No, she could only show up in the Legion of Superheroes and her own comic.
And they wanted to kill her in Crisis because she felt she diluted the brand.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Funny thing, apparently when they restored Supergirl, they were genuinely flummoxed to find out she still had a massive fanbase.
Apparently this being like, "Oh wait, girls DID read comics and always have" thing.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersWell, my thought is that she has a big S
On her costume. And the Sentry has a big S on his hernia belt.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThis is pretty rich considering how kill-happy the Big 2 became in the 2000s when it came to kids. Remember Lian Harper's fate in Justice League: Cry for Justice.
Mind you, DC allowing Superman to have a kid is a fairly recent development. For the longest time, their view on superheroes having kids was not dissimilar to how Marvel viewed Spider-Man having kids.
So Spidey and Aquaman have something to bond over: baby murder!
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonNorman: I bet Peter is wishing for some Dragon Balls to bring back Mayday am I right?
Everyone else in the room: ......
Norman: What? I was trying to make a joke, and show my knowledge of anime that Harry used to watch as a kid.
Jameson: YOU FORGOT THE PART WHERE SHENRON GRANTS THE WISH! What? I have hobbies.

Thankfully that whole thing with Black Manta being a hero in Aquamen was a total bust and helped lead to the series cancellation.
So they should be going back to archnemesis soon.
Sadly though Arthur jr. has been retconned out (as well as Arthur's other son Koryak) so Black Manta technically hasn't killed his son at the moment.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."In the The Refrigerator Monologues, a great book, the story of Aquaman Expy is particularly nasty. Basically, the child is horribly murdered and the Mera expy gets treated as the nagging wife for the fact that her character never gets over it and continues to bring it up because their child is dead.
Which is, of course, a lifechanging no Status Quo Is God event.
