This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

As mentioned a while back, Models Inc. was entirely about models as amateur sleuths, including MJ (although she's definitely not the lead).

Going back to the point about female villains -
Who do we have who's physically stronger than the spiders and largely invulnerable, if anyone? That Rhino/Tombstone/Molten Man sort of power set?
(A thought prompted by Rhino-Gwen, mostly)
It's the sort of niche I'd suggest Titania for, if I wasn't enjoying her fight club frenemy stuff over in She-Hulk so much - she's less fun as an outright villain.

Which is kinda weird since during Immortal she stated she hated Jen because she "a cop". Then again, she was already leaning to the good guy side in that book.

Stunner, Shathra, the (Spider-)Queen. Others like Delilah and Joystick have varying degrees of Super-Toughness.
It appears Christos Gage has been credited with writing Spider-Man#10
, with Slott getting a 'story by' credit. Perhaps since Slott is busy with a Superior Spider-Man relaunch and Spider-Boy, he's had no time to finish off the last few issues of his current book?

Mary Jane confirmed as the new Jackpot
. Debuts in ASM#31 and will then get her own mini-series.
Peter's only using Felicia right now to get over MJ, and Felicia's lost all credibility with me because she's settling for silver medal. Their current relationship isn't well written at all and is founded on very shaky foundations. Felicia can't even read the room correctly with Peter's grief over Kamala.

MJ is Peter's one true love, he's made that very clear over the years. He's only with Felicia because MJ rejected him (neither of them know it wasn't by choice) and isn't processing that loss very well. If you want to stan Spider/Cat, go ahead, but this take on their relationship is objectively a joke

What I just said is rejecting One True Love as a concept.
I really was liking when Felicia was shown as a friend of Mary Jane and someone that Peter still has strong feelings for even if he's married to someone else. The Felicia and Mary Jane comics were great too.
No, he may not be with her because he's with someone else but saying he has to love only one person kind pisses me off. Mostly because I'm the child of a widower. It seems weird to be against people having a Second Love, especially in comics where deep relationships can be forged for decades.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Yeah, you’re being too harsh, Zarius. Like, one of the reasons Gwen was killed off was that they couldn’t think of anywhere to go with her other than marrying Peter. And in multiple alternate realities where she survives, like House of M, they are married
By your own logic, both MJ and Felicia are just backups for Gwen then.
Yeah. The narrative that Our Hero can only have one true love is... a little bit problematic and doesn't compare well to real life.
That said, in Peter's case it's complicated by the One More Day Cosmic Retcon. There was a marriage... and then there wasn't.
Whereas Daredevil's marriage broke up for story reasons, Karen Page died etc.
And most other Marvel mainstays aren't so locked into a particular relationship. Scott and Jean have their dysfunctional resurrection loop, and I can't see Hulkling and Wiccan separating any time soon, but beyond that...

I have this unflinching feeling that I won't like where they're going with MJ/Jackpot...

There's lots of ways to get Mary Jane involved as an Amateur Sleuth as she's a heroic Badass Bystander in the comics.
Hell, you could keep the reporter element and actress.
"Phil Urich hired me to impersonate a magazine reporter and get this information."
