This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

he/him
I think Ben's had more than enough from Beyond recently...
I don't know.
I don't think he's had enough of his fist in all their faces yet.
He definitely needs a lot of that.
Like, Ben should be trying to smash the face of every person who ever worked for beyond until they have no face left to smash instead of taking things out on Peter.
One Strip! One Strip!A while back there was a suggestion to add a pinned welcome post on this thread, which didn't get much response, so never actually happened. Given that we've just had some discussion about the Punisher being off-topic (and some questions about which other books are on-topic), maybe it's worth revisiting that?
How's this for a pinned post intro:

If people think that's a good idea, we can ask the mods to add it (after any amendments).
How's it look?

So Across the Spider-Verse features a version of Anya Corazon who has become a bit of a Ensemble Dark Horse. She is however very different from the classic Anya, being big and buff, she has been dubbed "Spider-Butch" by people who don't know she's Anya.
Because of this, there's the suggestion that should change comic Anya to ressemble more the film version. Thoughts?
This how she looks in the movie btw:
I do want the armor back!
I like the idea of her getting the armor back but this feels like Anya In Name Only so I wouldn't want that at all
I never knew she had that armour.
I'm fine with Classic Anya, but this one is pretty cool. Maybe make her an alternate version or a new character with a new name.
One Strip! One Strip!Maybe a variant of Spider-Man that joined the Fantastic 4 and/or the Future Foundation?
Yeah, it runs into the hiccup of "Spider-Man movies can't reference non-Spider adjacent super-people", but would Marvel's lawyers really throw a temper tantrum because there was a Spider-Variant in a blue and black costume?

While I'm not sure I'd want regular Anya to get that big, I'd definitely be fine with her getting butcher than she normally is. There is a tragic lack of thicc women in cape comics.
On a side note, have there been any transgender Spider-people? I'm just curious. Obviously, Gwen's "Protect Trans Kids" poster prompted a lot of people to read her as trans-coded, but is there a Spider-person who's canonically trans?
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. They showed what looked like an FTM version of Gwen among the alternate versions of her in the last issue of Spider-Gwen: Shadow Clones.
I kinda thought that might be the case. It's only slightly surprising they haven't yet.
Marvel is not shying away from trans characters, though - and we had a trans man symbiote character (Muzzle) introduced in a Spider-Man story a week or two ago.
They might not launch a solo book with a trans lead (yet), but I would be surprised if the spider-office had concerns about introducing relatively minor trans characters.

I doubt that's the case. I'd argue Marvel wants to be seen as progressive. They're still doing Spider-Verse anthologies, right? They've probably just got a lot of creators they solicit pitches from for those, and they only have so much page space.
So I guess whether a trans Spider-person shows up probably depends on whether they keep doing Spider-Verse anthologies.
They did introduce a disabled Spider-Woman, that's cool. And I liked her joke in Across the Spider-Verse about using humour as a crutch. That was a cute pun.

X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.I doubt Disney Marvel would do anything like that for the MCU especially considering China's throwing a fit over Lightyear's kiss and American Chavez's two moms.
Comics maybe but they'd really have to do it quick during pride month now while the marketing iron is hot. Otherwise they'd be drowned out by comics gate sensationalism on Twitter and You Tube.
Yeah my opinion of Disney Marvel is their progressiveness is wholly conditional. So long as it can give them a big enough profit/good pr and not hurt global audiences that aren't big on the LGBT community they'll do it.
