This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

So here's something interesting; apparently, Spidey's black suit debuted a full year before Secret Wars, meaning fans suddenly had this new black suit from nowhere with no explanation whatsoever. No wonder a large portion loathed the change at the time.

The way Secret Wars happened, the characters went to this weird ring shaped construct and disappeared at the end of one issue. And then reappeared in the next issue with intriguing changes so Marvel could be like "check out Secret Wars!"
Many of the changes didn't last the year it took in some cases to get to the explanation.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersReposting cause he meant a lot for Spider-Man

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Legend. ASM #39 is one of the best covers of all time.
The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]RIP to the king.
Without him we wouldn't have kingpin, bullseye, luke cage, the rose, shocker, sandman , vulture, hobgoblin and of course Mj, punisher and wolverine. A truly accomplished career.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I remember that crossover they had where they body swapped. She spent that story talking about how Peter's body was old and creaky.
Which was probably why she was marked for death.
Speak not the heresy of Peter being anything but hip and relatable.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersNGL, how Peter is written at points really gives me "How do you do fellow kids" energy.
Like I'm supposed to be target demographic according to marvel, I'm still younger than 23 and Spider-Man feels like those middle aged dudes trying to act hip and happening.
Doesn't help a plot line like Paul cucking him with MJ isn't exactly relatable to 20 year olds.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Marvel: "Peter being single and miserable will definitely make him more relatable to young readers, right?"
Me: Actually, I'm in my very early twenties and I grew up reading comics with the Spider-Marriage and vastly prefer it as the status quo...
Marvel: SHUT UP YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU LIKE! Now here's The Continued Adventures of Paul Guest Starring The Amazing Spider-Man. Love it or we're killing Nova next.
Me: Pfft. Like I could care less abou-
Marvel: Richard, not Sam.
Me: ...I'll be good.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonYeah while Ultimate Spider-Man was my jam as a kid, the run I read of the main one was JMS Spidey.
Plus collections of the old stuff.
....Man, MJ's dialogue is pretty hard to understand looking back.
