This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

He actually went up against Ms. Marvel, in a really fun story that involved him building some sort of weird tech that interfered with her powers in a way that sent her travelling through time and dimensions until Singularity returned her home. One of Singularity's few appearances outside of A-Force, I wish we got more of her. (I also wish we'd had the chance to see her being gender-fluid explored. That was part of the original idea for her, she took on a female form because she was surrounded by women, but she was actually intended to be gender-fluid.)

X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Shocker is a professional jobber for Spider-Man but he's a good jobber and not forgettable.
He robs banks.
He does it for cash.
It's not really personal.
And because of his ease of utility, Shocker is usually in Spider-Man's spin off media despite being no one's particular favorite and wearing a yellow oven mitt as a mask.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Reminds me of the Spider-Man PS 2 game where when Spidey first confronts Shocker, he attempts to guess the villain's name, throwing out "Quilt-Man," "Padded Pete," "Mr. Triple Ply" and "The Cushion."
And this
. "OH NO! He's going to insulate my house! Maybe he will touch me and his costume will make me all itchy!"
Marvel.com have an article up about Judas Traveller
They make a very specific mention of Amazing Spider-Man#402...the issue where Traveller offered to revive Aunt May and Peter rejected him

New Mayday?
For those of you scratching your heads, Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz are the creators of Mayday. So a potential new Mayday series would be welcome (especially if it pisses off Nick Lowe and Dan Slott).
They make a very specific mention of Amazing Spider-Man#402...the issue where Traveller offered to revive Aunt May and Peter rejected him
Is there really a purpose for these articles? Because first we got the one about Peter's multiversal family and now we have this article about a bad guy mutant who offered to revive Aunt May as was a general pain in the ass during The Clone Saga. Maybe I'm reading too much into this?
Why did they do that? I thought him and scrier are considered some of the worst parts in that ?
Mind you it was probably became they were way out of line power wise to be spiderman villains.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."It’s a sorta natural move
Judas Traveller was created to give spider man an 90s x-men style villain. With vague but powerful powers and mysteriousssssss instead of character

Forever liveblogging the AvengersWas it Spider-Man that retconned his origin and cosmic powers to make him a manipulative psychic rather than a world-shaking immortal? Or was that X-books too?
Would be interesting to see Peter confront him again nowadays.
For that matter, what happened to Scrier? I only have a vague awareness of the character... did they get retooled somehow, killed off, or just shoved out of sight?
I just want to mention that this is a terribly funny thing to say about the Shocker, because there's this amazing scene in Charles Soule's She-Hulk series where he says that villains have a ranking system for the heroes. You fight your Iron Fists or Daredevils, because you might actually win, but you never fight Hulks and you never fight Thors.
(When She-Hulk asks about "Thor" being plural, he says yeah, there's girl-Thor (this was just before Jane showed up) and fat-Thor, and when Shulkie asks if he means Valkyrie and Volstagg, Shocker doubles down that "THEY'RE ALL THORS.")
I was a Spider-Man fan at the time.
I really liked that issue where he offered to bring back Aunt May.
Spider-Man beats the crap out of him and says, "You are so full of ****! You're not god."
Which was a nice rebuttal and shows how Spider-Man would react to say, Mephisto.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.New Superior Spider-Man book is a #0 issue which sets things up for a big anniversary for the concept, and that they'll do something 'new' to it, he returns to ASM with a short story in #31, and then something else which will become obvious when everyone 'figures it out'.
I think the obvious thing is he's probably writing Ultimate Spider-Man when the line relaunches.
And DeMatteis eventually got around to revealing in his Silver Surfer that they weren't just LARPing weirdoes and that the nebulous, reality-warping entity that they worship is real.
DeMatteis created a bunch of cosmic entities nobody else ever uses. The real Scrier, an Eldritch Abomination called the Other, and I’m told his Man-Thing run had a collection of entities claiming to be the embodiments of TOAA’s dreams, but I know basically nothing about that run.

If Batman was in Spider-Man's corner of the MU, I could totally see him as Bruce Wayne hiring Shocker and Sandman to fight crime and help out Spider-Man.
Knowing those two, they'd go for it.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
