This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Honestly, that's more American conservative values and misogyny than pure hypocrisy.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Gwen gets pregnant after a broken condem unsure about her future with Peter, they were having an up anf down relationship, scared at the prosoect of motherhood especially with her dad dead and quietly gives the kids up for adoption. As she feels she or Peter aren't ready to be parents.
Heck in this scenario you wouldn't even need Norman or some annoying Gray Goblin. Just a heartwrenching story of a man connecting with the kids he never knew he had.
See, this is a great idea for a fanfiction or for an AU story, but a terrible idea for a book in the main continuity. As is any variation of Sin's Past.
And it's not because it's inherently a bad idea to have Peter (and presumably MJ) suddenly become the parent(s) to a couple of relatively normal twin kids (who I presume would be around 4-7, factoring in the sliding timeline), but because you've massively upended the status quo in a way that can't be easily retconned away.
And Normie's very existence ages Peter significantly his arch nemesis has a pre teen grandson thanks to the perpetually dying and resurrecting Harry whose had more heel-face turns than the Big Show.
So giving Peter kids via Gwen in the 4-7 year old range or hell just baby Mayday is a sacrifice to the "status quo" I'm willing to make.
A status quo the bulk of casual and hard-core spider-man fans deems as bs.
It says something that DC was able to learn they're mistake by retconning Talia's "miscarriage" to give us Damian Wayne but Marvel continues to dig its feet into the ground for making 616!Spider-man grow up like his friends.
Keeping your hero in arrested development doesn't make him relatable to kids....it's makes him that one stoner cousin in between jobs your parents told you not to hang out with.
I remember reading a comic that was set during Inferno where Harry had to don the Goblin gear and go up against Macendale Hobgoblin to protect his family.
Really good stuff.
Honestly, I think Harry Osborn has a lot of untapped potential as a character and even when they brought him back post OMD, they squandered their chance.
Heck, having a actual son actually made Harry man up and kick off drugs to be the father that Norman wasn't.
Pity it didn't last since they wanted Harry to be a bad guy.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

My theory above is this is Quesada just answering fan questions on behalf of editorial mandate. He may have run Marvel story division but he doesn't own Spider-Man and his job is to enforce certain parameters.
Which is to say they wanted a young Spider-Man kept "morally pure."
