This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I do agree Miles really needs his own love interest that isn't related to Peter.
Like Gwen kinda functions as a multiversal sloppy seconds for him, "oh Peter has MJ so Gwen is free to be dated by anyone". Its kinda demeaning for both character from a meta standpoint.
Plus it does further restrict Miles to Spider-Verse stuff. It makes him the multiverse guy instead of having his own particular elements like Peter has.
And we already have issues with Peter taking stuff from Miles, MCU Spider-Man took a lot from him with movie Ned Leeds basically being Ganke.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."In regards to the symbiote changing the host's personality, it may not be the original story, but the most likely reason it's been used so many times is because it's more dramatic. Peter rejecting the symbiote because it's trying forcibly bond with him, feeding on his adrenaline, and controlling him while he sleeps isn't as engaging as it twisting his mind and body and making him almost betray his principles.
I find this rather surprising considering that McFarlane created Spawn whose suit is basically the symbiote taken Up To Eleven.
In fairness, Felicia coming to love Peter and Spider-Man was long before Wells. And I'm fairly certain Sony game Felicia doesn't even have a kid, let alone Peter's.
[[quoteblock]]It's really just in the comics as the games, movies and cartoons really have the best parts of Peter's love life.
Which is saying something considering we get stuff like MJ abandoning John Jameson at the altar for Peter, Spectacular Felicia hating Spider-Man for giving her dad a conscience and 90s Fox show Felicia dumping Peter out of nowhere for Morbius (that guy just makes everything better, doesn't he?). Also, did anyone find it weird that they never learned each other's true identities on that show, despite the obvious clues?
For Mc Farlane it was also a case of he really loved the classic Red and Blue suit over the Black one, to each their own.
I've always preferred the black suit heck in Marvel Ultimate Alliance I exclusively wore that once I unlocked it.
Funny thing about TAS series Felicia even after Morbius when she was summoned for the shows version of Secret Wars she ended up hooking up with Peter again despite being with Morbius.....not really loyal.
Just realized this Zeb Wells run is the bad ending basically the bad ending to the 90s TAS
As there you had Spider-Man going to be reunited with MJ after thanks to Madan Web because he selflessly saved the multiverse and showed himself to be the best out of not only all the other Marvel heroes but other Spider-Men.
Compared to here where Peter basically shows his whole ass to the other heroes burns every bridge for an MJ who just ended up cheating and leaving him for some OC.

The source of the ASM#26 spoilers
was a Youtube channel, they were given the leaks by a disgruntled internal Marvel source who wasn't happy with the manner in which Marvel were handling the death.
If they reveal who did it the guy's just gonna become a martyr because the only people who are praising Kamala's death are the racist nerds. Everyone else is calling this story out as a cheap and unearned shock death to eventually revive Kamala as a mutant with her MCU powers
Frankly this entire run is like a badly booked WWE storyline. Everyone hates loudly voices they're opinions online and the writers revile in it.

And the fact that we know means they are close to catching them.
Okay, how is it that when someone leaks spicy info like this on TV and in the movies, it's considered good, but in reality, it isn't?
And speaking of leaks, we got another one, namely the spoiler cover
that spoils the big OMGWTF death that'll be rendered irrelevant in a couple of months.

Demons: "Say the line, Bart!"
Jameson, crying: "I want p-pictures, juicy pictures of spider-man..."
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHas wells run addressed that or have they just ignored that.
They don’t really have any chemistry, Miles has a girlfriend
Miles was single when they were teasing a romance between the two.
They already teased it in the first film. It's less "bringing back" and more following up what they set up.

"Has wells run addressed that or have they just ignored that." I'm pretty sure Felicia's been depicted as more willing to commit for a long time. Not necessarily with Peter, since he was already with MJ by that point, but I feel like her having a fear of commitment is something she started moving past in the '90s, and even more into the 2000s.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. It's jumping through the multiverse in an effort to kill all Venoms across all time and space. Partially because Carnage hates his dad and partially in an effort to branch out and distinguish itself without Cletus.
So basically Carnage is going through his teenage phase right now.
#IceBearForPresidentI problem I have with both American and Japanese action comics is that at some point the scale of certain stories is so high that...it just doesn't hit anymore. Like I read that and I don't think "woah, that's big." I think, "oh, OK."
But that's probably just a me thing. People like their spectacle. Hell, I like me my spectacle too. It's just sometimes it doesn't hit.

Really says something that the happiest version of the original Gwen Stacy was the Mexican comics version that ignored her death and married Peter.
Heck the What if Gwen Stacy lived story's only negative outcome was Goblin exposed Peter's identity to JJ who broadcasted it to the world.
Which compared to what happened to Matt Murdock in "Born Again" was minor. As Gwen is still alive, married to Peter and accepted his secret identity. Heck she was full ride or die when the cops tried to cuff him.
Old stories like that is why I say Sins Past was straight up character assassination for Gwen Stacy.
