This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

And the fact that no one else knows about the clone and alternate dimension shit.
So as far as everyone else knows, she's happily married to Peter.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Bit of a shameless self-plug, but I did write and commission my own take on how the 90s series ended
Even Rich is no longer convinced the big death is Mary Jane
I think it's now far likely to be Robbie Robertson, since it would fit thematically with Randy's impending wedding and add a layer of tragedy to it
I'm not sure what to believe anymore.
But food for thought, what if they actually do kill MJ? Like, would the impact be so huge, almost everyone will "NOPE!" out of Spider-Comics?
I mean, obviously it won't stop Spider-Comics from selling period, but maybe the death of MJ might dip sales from the top 5-10 (or wherever Spider-Books end up selling at) to like Top 40 or somewhere that's considered "not a smash hit"?
Honestly, this run has shown that Marvel can do whatever the hell they want with Spider-Man and it will sell like hot cakes.
So fuck it, they might as well kill MJ since they want Peter to be single. It's WRITER preference at this point. Supposedly, the Editorial is lax on the single status but now it's a writer preference.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I wish I knew why MJ was such a bugbear to the creators. Other unpopular editorially enforced decisions, like M-Day, have long been walked back on, but nobody’s willing to budge on her, and it’s weird because other superhero love interests, even other Spidey love interests, don’t seem to provoke the same reaction.

I personally mix and match canon with the various adaptations, and mainstream comics up until just before Civil War.
The Renew your vows verse would actually work quite well for my own personal canon since it IS a universe where Civil War never happened.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Yeah I also didn’t like the aging up. Felt like it was skipping past all the good stuff that we were here to see to go for a diet Mayday feel
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI think I recall Scott Snyder saying that he didn't use Damian Wayne much because he kept thinking of his own kid and imagining him in the situations Damian was often in. Teen heroes are controversial enough (it's one of the reasons Jason Todd was originally killed off), preteen heroes are an even bigger can of worms. Little surprise there are so few of them.
So, what was the full speech where Spider-Man repeated the words "NO ONE DIES!!!" like a form of Madness Mantra?
"Cynicism is not realistic and tough. It's unrealistic and kind of cowardly because it means you don't have to try."Anime and manga child endanger like it’s going out of style
Superhero writers need to get on the level
The avengers at least let their baby weapon of mass destruction fight god. Slash couldn’t really stop her.

Forever liveblogging the Avengers

This was genuinely sad.
On the topic of the 90s show, I do wonder how Peter would have explained all the clone shit and wedding to MJ.
