This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Wait I just now realized something about Miles' villain the Rabble character.
Okay so her motivation is that she's jealous Miles got what she believes to her spot to the school he goes too. Does Miles school even have a high level science program?
It seems like a normal boarding school, and Rabble is the kind of super science tech character who can make drones and power armor by herself.
Its funny to think she's making such a big deal for a school that possibly couldn't support her intellectually.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's the principle of the matter when it comes to being slighted.
Reed did nothing really serious to Doom but DAMN IT, HE DARED TO TRY TO CORRECT DOOM!
Who cares if the school was a regular school not fit for a super genius like Rabble? IT DARED REJECT HER!
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"There's also the concern here. If her mental instabilities derive from side effects from using her tech, who's to say her losing her mind isn't a given.
Depends if you think getting accepted in a school might mean access to equipment that won't scramble her brains or her always being potentially fucked in that regard.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Miles' villain Rabble sounds like an evil version of Riri Williams.

The Protomen enhanced my life.
Just remembering the weirdos who were convinced that Riri was already evil, or should be evil, or whatever. Just for replacing Tony, basically. And like, I'm not gonna argue that Bendis handled that story well, but man, the way Certain People talked about her was super weird.
I have not read Miles new book yet but I feel like Rabble could be a better character if they tone down the sympathetic view of her, and portray her more as a ridiculously petty maniac.
Cause everything I hear about the character indicates she would have inevitably had a meltdown even if she won the raffle. From a combination from her very petty personality to suffering side-effects from her own invention, she seems tailor made from the start to be the next supervillain.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."After Thor died at the end of Fear Itself, he was briefly replace by a new thunder god named Tanarus, who turned out to be a minor villain in disguise in what was definitely an intentional invocation of/commentary on the Replacement Scrappy concept.
It was especially ridiculous since Riri didn't even call herself Iron Man. That was Dr. Doom, whom you'd think would draw more ire for being a supervillain who had replaced a popular superhero.
As for Rabble, I think this analysis will help people better understand the character
(though I think she was always going to be a contentious addition.
My god Zdarsky, it's beautiful. It sucks this man was driven from ASM because he feared Executive Meddling and an unpleasable fanbase.
It has an absolutely godawful set-up and lead in that can't be justified by later parts of the story, even if they were good, and seems very confused about the message it was supposedly trying to convey: that Peter is the better Spider-man than Otto.
Instead, Otto's methods are generally just... too effective to be believably flawed, and the reasoning for giving the mantle back to Peter isn't because his methods are better so much as it's because only Peter has the experience/reflexes to beat Norman. That's pretty bogus, and doesn't really address Otto being able to juggle Spider-man with also creating an entire multi-billion dollar company and complete a PHD while criticizing Parker's lack of being able to do so.
It's an even more awkward version of Knightfall. And that's saying something.

Hang on, let me get some scans for the thread.
