This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Comics are interesting in that lately every time a new story arc or run begins panic is likely to ensue instead of being excited for it.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Though at this point, there are quite a few fans who have grown up with post-marriage Spider-Man. To them, bringing the marriage back might feel like bringing Barry Allen back to life and taking the Flash mantle away from Wally.
Are there actually that many new readers in comics? The old ones just kind of get shuffled around. So I'm not sure how many people actually grew up reading the post OMD era. And honestly...the movies and video game probably have the most younger fans...and those have Peter and MJ together. At this point...the comics are pretty off brand.

I suspect a lot of fans who weren't around for the Spider-marriage would be fine with it reoccurring as long as the current plotlines led there in a natural way, and it didn't use retcons to throw out all the stories they've been enjoying.
It's not quite the same situation as dumping a legacy character and reverting to Hal or Barry over at DC.
One thing that really seemed to annoy people about One More Day was the fact it left decades of continuity in limbo. "It all happened - except when it didn't" is a really dangerous retcon to pull, because suddenly people who are invested in the story so far don't know if that story even happened.
What happened 75 issues ago?
There’s been a non zero amount of renumbering
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI feel this way, too, but I also feel like there's no incentive for Marvel and DC to do that. At this point, there's not really any hype or interest or publicity in doing anything that isn't some sort of high concept. I don't even know what one would do to even counteract that.
More on Cebulski's marriage stance
He says things might change in two or five years now, but if he were to give his own opinion, fans would boo him
Marvel hyping up something called 'Fallen Friend'
to be published in July. Details will be released on May 31st. It's speculated this has something to do with the death in ASM#26

I didn't know they were ever un-married (besides before they tied the knot, lol)!

The Protomen enhanced my life.I don't want to see Norman slip back into inevitable evil again. Or, at least, not unless they have something new to offer.
Either put him on a different path (as Gold Goblin has), or take him offstage.
I'm reminded on the Kieron Gillen run on Loki, and how Journey into Mystery ended... the world, and by extension, Marvel and its readers, wouldn't let him be good. Some sort of Face–Heel Turn would happen. So that Loki died instead of succumbing.
(Has Norman met Loki since his sins were purged? Given that Loki's transformation started after he sided with the heroes against Norman, and paid the price, that could be interesting)

Hah. Looks like that chase is going to be equal parts ridiculous and maybe a little terrifying.
It's still not clear exactly what it is that sets Miles and Miguel against each other, but based on how they keep talking about Sacrifice, I'd assume it's tied to Miles having to choose between the multiverse and his Dad.
One Strip! One Strip!

RE: OMD retcon attempts:
...So. They think the concept of a science nerd marrying someone who has been firmly established as "the jackpot" is too old and lame? Does anyone else see how backwards this claim is or is it just me?
I get that fans can be particularly insufferable, but isn't this a case where they have every right to be mad? For all we know, Married Spider-Man was the best era for them and they grew up on it, so ripping that away from them out of the blue? I'd call it a dick move. And they'd rather stick to their guns instead of following the money? That sounds financially backwards. I'd like to meet the wise guy who hired these clowns.
RE: Spider-Man panel details from C2E2:
Well, that's actually a better response than the last time the marriage was brought up. But creatives active preferring to not do the marriage sounds equally frustrating.
Honestly I feel like we've made a great amount of progress by just that statement alone
All the bullshit was cut
But yeah, at least we know anyone can just bring it back if they want.
Don't tell me. Spencer figured his time on the comic was getting cut short and tried to cram abridged versions of what he wanted to do and now it looks like it's happening with Wells?
Could be further follow up on Mary Jane's Krakoan connections, or it's a book about Rek Rap...maybe even Chasm/Ben Reilly?
I had to check to make sure that this "Uncanny Spider-Man" thing wasn't a photoshop prank. It isn't.
It could really be any of those. But I found someone speculating that they'll kill off MJ in ASM 26 and reveal Peter is a mutant
and now it's all I can think about.
