This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

He does get to occasionally show that he is smart on occasion like rallying people against the DB back in BND.
Doc Ock even notes he's less stupid and more that he has poor impulse control and insecurity issues.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Also note that the new Electro, Francine Fry falls for tricks that Spidey flat out states Max wouldn't fall for anymore.
Like Peter takes her out using the sprinkler system. Max may not be perfect, but he's been Electro long enough to know better than to get in that position in the first place.
One Strip! One Strip!Rhino is consistently the dumbest of Spider-Man rogues though.
So if anyone gets the pity treatment, it's him.
At least Electro has power even if he's dumb.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"He's still a good villain
Hell Kraven has tangled with Black Panther several times. Its actually rather funny Kraven has defeated or nearly defeated T'Challa several times.
Even T has a level of respect for the guy, acknowledging his honor.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I think Kraven is a better solo villain than as a member of the Sinister Six.
Being a face in the crowd doesn't benefit him and he can wind up overshadowed by the most spectacular powersets there.
Hell, I think in the first gathering of the Sinister Six, Spider-Man didn't even bother fighting Kraven. Just stole the thingum he was guarding and then left.
I think Kraven is in the "peak human" club. He's kind of a mix of Captain America and Black Panther in that he's jacked up on herb potion.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersYeah. Him and Mysterio would probably be pretty good team players I'd imagine.
Both have prep time as their thing, so they'd arguably be able to organize things pretty well alongside Ock.

Kraven's strength is inconsistent, like a lot of Spidey's rogues when they crossover with other humans.
This has come up in this thread before, but I believe he's meant to be legitimately superhuman through the jungle herbs
Kraven's okay but I think he's simply ran his course like a lot of OG Spidey rogues. I haven't actually read Last Hunt yet and I can't wait to tell you all I think it's mid when I get there
Well, we do finally get a taste of MJ's family life in ASM#21 today
A lot less like the Waltons and a lot more like the Simpsons
Owen is ill-tempered and hates days out at the park...until he's there, while Stephanie asks her parents repeatedly if clowns have ears
Paul also nearly swears in front of the kids
Overall, it's a chaotic slice of life scene, which unintentionally paints them as a unit you kind of want to see get dissolved.
I mean this scene of MJ living her life with Paul's kids feels calculated to make the reader be jealous MJ is with this dude.
Which sort of describes how this run sounds like.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I agree with this.
I think when Kraven's by himself, the plot can focus on the fact that he's a planner. Kraven's most effective stories are the ones where he sets the whole situation up, accounting for all his prey's choices to set up physical or emotional traps to wear them down, and his enemies have to run the maze like the rats he perceives them to be until they inevitably figure out a way to Take a Third Option.
He can't really do that in a villain team story, because everyone has to have equal weight more or less, and because in a Sinister Six situation Ock or whoever the leader is at the time is going to invariably end up in the planner position instead.

I don't buy Electro being smart.
He is from what I've seen defined as having absolutely no impulse control or ability for greater planning.
He is pretty much a tantrum throwing psychopath with little intelligence and is always treated as among the dumber members on any given team.
