This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I mean shit, is " well people have the same idea as me on social media, therefore I'm right" really a good argument?
Like that's the kind of stuff that's the reason I avoid shit like Twitter for.
Appealing to popularity is a fallacy.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I saw the panel people are freaking out about. It didn't seem that bad to me, though that might be because I'm in a similar situation with my ex. There's no longer anything romantic; we love each other like family. So I could relate to what Peter said in that panel.
As I said, I only saw the one panel. So I don't know if there's other stuff in the issue that contradicts what Peter said. And considering it hasn't been long since they were last dating, it does ring maybe a little inauthentic. I suspect we're probably supposed to believe what Peter says, that the nature of love towards MJ has changed and that he actually is ready to move on. At this point, the question is whether the next writer will keep Peter and Felicia together. I would argue they should; regardless of anyone's feelings on that pairing, I think it is worth letting Peter have a long-term relationship. Let them keep dating for a good few years before their inevitable break-up.
Has Peter had a long-term relationship since MJ? How long did he date Carlie? So, yeah, give Peter and Felicia maybe a decade together.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.
Carlie made a cameo in Dark Web: Dawn#1 at the coffee bean, saying to Emily Osborn that MJ's kids were a "long story"
Prior to that, she'd been used in Nick Spencer's run admitting to her own faults in her relationship with Peter and falling for Overdrive. She also found out the real Harry Osborn was dead and helped his clone equip himself to face off against Kindred
@Tiamatty: Considering only six months and short change occurred between Peter and MJ having an 'unbreakable romantic bond' that would create a daughter that would kick the devil's ass and now where they have 'sibling love', I call frank B.S on what Peter is saying. It's post-OMD, we don't know how much of this is them talking or magic manipulating them into thinking and stating otherwise
Like I said, Ben and Alicia had a very similar amicable 'ex' relationship in the 2000s in Fantastic Four, and now? They're married.
Felicia and Peter is not going to last long-term, especially when built on this kind of foundation. Peter isn't over MJ and Felicia knows she's second choice. All roads lead back to Mary Jane, and this book, for all it's doing wrong, is emphatically pointing towards that, not Peter/Felicia. She and Paul are roadblocks to the true endgame.
"Has Peter had a long-term relationship with MJ?" is that a serious question? Try twenty years of marriage in 616 and thirty five years and beyond in other universes. NO relationship is ever casting a shadow over that and Marvel probably have realized by now it's pointless to try.

He dated Carlie for only a year and a bit, but quickly lost her after Spider-Island, after that there was Anna-Marie for half a year, but that was Otto in Peter's body, then there was the fling with Mockingbird, but that was only a few months, then it was back to MJ.
And I didn't actually see the word "since" the first time. Sorry.
My point still stands though, ain't no way Peter feeling nothing romantic for MJ is going to stick.

Another page popped up from ASM#20 with a bit more context
After Felicia kisses Peter, she tells him she wasn't telling her the truth, he was telling the truth to himself, then they banter and swing off to go after White Rabbit and Kareem
This is so easily fixable, as that line is only a word or two away from being "You weren't telling me the truth, you were telling yourself...a lie", Felicia of course won't confront Peter with that truth because she wants him all to himself, so now she's the one doing the emotional manipulating
And yes, that's Joking Mode and copium, don't at me for it.

Stop dating your sisters, Pete
Especially don’t date Teresa. She makes duck face when shooting guns
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWait no I'm checking the Image wiki, she's his step-sister.
I don't know why the main page here keeps switching between half and step. Its very confusing cause I would very much like clarification on whether its pseudo-incest or actual incest he's engaging in.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I think it actually does matter with Teresa because she only came to see Peter when she wanted him to spider man for her spy missions
If they’d had more interaction where it wasn’t about exploiting a sibling bond to get a superhero on call, I’d be more invested in the idea that they’re siblings no matter what a DNA test says
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

Felicia sees more like she's into 'fixing' Peter than pursuing a relationship,. while Peter doesn't honestly know how he feels about MJ or what he wants. He's just saying things hoping it leads to better things. He's still hurting ,and she's fine with it so long as she has him, that to me isn't the foundation for a healthy relationship.
That's not a 'distortion', that's an interpretation of the text, and one I'm glad to say is shared by many on social media.
Also, I seem to recall Alicia and Ben Grimm went through the whole "love has changed" thing in the 2000s, and they wound up not only together again, but married, so yeah...we'll see how much of this Peter actually means.
