This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

So according to spoilers, this week's Timeless is going to make something out of a missing moment in Marvel history, I know they won't have the balls, but I'd say the Peter/MJ wedding qualifies as a potential candidate for that]
Also according to the Timeless spoilers The Avengers will be 'searching for the missing moment' and they're coming off of a battle with Mephisto. Perhaps this missing moment is key to ultimately preventing him taking over Earth since Peter/MJ's wedding leads to Mayday being born and ridding us of him once and for all?
Getting your hopes up? I seriously doubt they'll build up to restoring the marriage since Marvel is committed to making Peter single and their increasingly convoluted manner of doing so has already caused me to give up up OMD will ever be reverted. Besides, it's Kang who's searching for the missing moment in history. I doubt he gives a shit about Spider-Man's marriage.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Man, I f*cking knew it.
Scoring powers that you can't control how useful or useless they become, not tell anyone how you got them and not even tell your ex, aka the freaking Spider-Man, about them? Anyone else getting the feeling that Marvel is so desperate in keeping the marriage undone that they're pulling out BS like this to say "You see?!? They'd both make terrible partners! Now will you please stop yelling mean things at us on the internet like how The Flash is a better example of what a Spider-Family comic could look like? Our mothers are getting very concerned about us. But also, keep paying for Spider-Man comics even though nothing ever changes because the character just prints money on his name alone and we need the money to fix the leaky roof we got six months ago."
I feel like I don't have to read the issue to know it was going to be like that. Like, I had a feeling from day one that Paul would gradually turn out to be a loser.
I just read Spider-Man King in black, and while I am confused about some parts like why there are shadow symbiotes, that was a fun read.
Never knew a team up of Spider-Man, Monica Captain Marvel, Kang, and Rocket Racoon, was something I needed to see. I guess Spider-Man is the real founder of the Guardians of the Galaxy?
Well Uatu just erased Spider-Man's memories of the entire adventure so fuck that I guess.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!""Anyone else getting the feeling that Marvel is so desperate in keeping the marriage undone that they're pulling out BS like this to say "You see?!? They'd both make terrible partners!" I don't think it's actually that deep. The current Spider-Man story is predicated on keeping readers guessing. What did Peter do to get everyone mad at him? Keep guessing! Why did Peter and MJ break up? Keep guessing! How did MJ get powers? Keep guessing! What's the deal with Paul and the kids? Keep guessing! Why should readers care about any of it? Keep guessing! Who shot JR? Keep guessing! What's the deal with airplane food? Keep guessing!
I don't know if turning the entire story into nothing more than a speculation engine was Wells' idea or editorials, though I'm inclined to blame editorial. But that's really all there is. No deeper thinking, no attempt to "prove" why Peter and MJ don't work as a couple, no animosity towards any of the characters involved. It's just the Lost approach - keep throwing mysteries at readers to keep them speculating on what's going on.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. And Wells also gets the 2022 "best ongoing comic" award from comicbook.com
https://comicbook.com/comics/amp/news/2022-golden-issue-award-best-ongoing-comic-amazing-spider-man/
So there seem to be a range of opinions.
Yeah, at the moment, we'll chalk up Gleason's tweet-liking to him being nice and feeling appreciated that folks want him on Spider-Man. Now if in a few months' time, he throws in cryptic tweets and the like that can be connected to Spider-Man, then we can start speculating.
But hey, Wells getting booted off Spider-Man in mid-2023? Better late than never. I'm sure he's not a bad person, but he just ain't it, chief.
That, or being forced to wrap his plot earlier than planned. Actually, do we know who's behind ASM's pacing to be slower than the world's largest snail? Because it's hard to tell if it's executive meddling or something Wells wanted from day one.
In any case, I'm sick of this "mystery box/dangling carrot" kind of plot and how they keep getting away with it because, duh, it's Spider-Man, so of course it sells like bananas. I wish someone would just drop it already.

So there seem to be a range of opinions.
And this is the run that has Spider-Man begging for Norman Osborn's help because he was on the brink of death from The Vulture. And The Vulture wasn't even supercharged or anything. And I know this because I can't stop seeing that specific page on my Twitter timeline. What needs to be done to make it stop? Aside from me just quitting Twitter?
EDIT:
Oh, turns out my initial question got answered already.
Kept coming up with other stories to beat Peter into the ground? Right. Sure. I buy it.

The Protomen enhanced my life.JMS is writing something secret for Marvel
. Could be anything, but I'd love it to be Spidey.
So in addition to the reveal of Peter Palmer we're also introduced to Another variant of Peter Parker, a cripple who works for Oscorp, who discovers a canister containing a thread of the web of life. This canister was previously in the possession of Spider-Norman and Spiders-Man, but they were attacked by Shathra's minions and forced to transport it to this world
And Shathra's wasps have a major flaw revealed: They can't convert Spiders who are cars, cartoon characters, ordinary human beings (in the case of RYV Mary Jane) monsters, or video game characters
And for Mayday fans We have an update on her father, he's a prisoner of Shathra and can't be turned...The Other is protecting him, but he unfortunately is also a savage Spider-Beast and Mayday doesn't believe it's him, I guess that officially places End of The Spider-Verse before Mayday's story in the Infinity Comics.
