This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Weinstein’s behavior was apparently well known in show business circles for decades, but I’m not surprised it took so long for him to be directly accused - in addition to his industry clout that let him end the careers of whoever he wanted, he also had a private detective agency comprised mostly of ex-government assassins as his beck and call. Yes, really.
So? A board game with a Venom themed deck is referencing the era where Mary Jane was married to Peter.
It's not like it's a hint to Mephisto's deal getting reversed. It'll never happen.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
We'll see. People thought Sins Past could never be retconned after so long. Look what happened. People thought Ben Reilly would never be resurrected after so long. Look what happened.
Nick Spencer's very run ended with a hint Peter and MJ's kid will defeat Mephisto, the marriage-centric Lost Hunt is the first book to be published set in the unaltered past of 616 since OMD was implemented. One of Norman's sins in Gold Goblin is 'the baby', The Unlimited app is publishing new MC 2 stories again.
Marriage is money more so than ever. Only a matter of time. You'll never convince me it's gone forever.

Carlos Gomez appears to have caused a bit of a stir on social media
by claiming noone at the company is 'on board' with editorial's current status quo for ASM.
Yikes, wasn't expecting someone who wasn't Twitter user #207163541 to just say the status quo ain't great.
But for context, the full quote is:
Yeah, the editorial team themselves isn't explicitly mentioned, but on the flip side, the "nobody" in "nobody is on board" can mean a lot of things. It could be referencing the more-than-noticeable fan reaction from social media or (as Zarius implied) literally no one, especially the editors, are okay with this status quo.
Either Mr. Gomez is just speaking broadly or he's choosing his words carefully. Because if not even the editorial team, whom we thought were the real villains in Peter's life, are cool with the status quo, then I wouldn't be surprised if social media slammed into turbo (and not maximum overdrive) and really give Marvel Comics even more hell.
But mind you, all of this is speculative and we probably shouldn't be dissecting this like it was the Ark of the Covenant. Now, unless someone from Marvel Comics starts using Morse code to say "Carlos wasn't kidding! No one likes it! We're forced to do this against our will! Send help!", then we can panic.
A lot of what OMD did to kill any interest I have in mainstream Pete is that he's just constantly spinning his wheels now.
And TBH, a lot of recent Spider-Man stories feel un-Spider-Man like. Particularly the Parker industries era, and now him working for Norman Osborn and getting tech from him.
Not to mention that whole business with Kindred.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Assuming if (when) Ben does become good again, I have to wonder if they'll let him keep his Chasm powers. It could be a very obvious way to differentiate him from Peter and the other Spidermen. Pete's the base, Kaine can talk to spiders
◊ and lacks the Spider Sense, and Miles has his Venom Strike.
As someone who isn't super familiar with Ben Reilly, the reason he's been evil like 3 times now is because nobody seems to have a good idea about how to differentiate him from Peter and so now he's filling up the spot in the rogues gallery that Venom used to occupy. Like, move him to Los Angeles, sure, but what would that do to substantially change the types of Spider-Man stories you can tell with him?

"Wait, were they specifically based on Weinstein" Their last name was Rothstein. And there were other things, as well. It wasn't even a subtle Take That!, it was writer Ron Zimmerman clearly not liking Weinstein at all and laying out on the page his reasons for it.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.
