This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

spider wasp eggs
A female wasp searches the ground and/or vegetation for a spider, and upon finding one, stings it, paralyzing the spider. The targeted spider is typically unable to kill the wasp, because the wasp can just fly out of reach, so at best the spider fights fiercely to escape.[12] Tarantula hawks (Pepsini) do not attack when adult tarantulas are close to or in their burrows. Instead, the wasps seek out adult males who have left their burrows in search of females to mate with. In the open the wasp first uses its wings to beat air over the tarantula, deceiving the tarantula into thinking that it is being targeted by a large bird so the tarantula reacts by curling up to appear smaller and less noticeable, which in turn makes the tarantula defenseless against the wasp's attack. However, Brazilian Wandering spiders (Phoneutria) and their predators have a different interaction dynamic, and the spiders often manage to defeat the hunting wasp.[citation needed]
Once the spider is paralyzed, a female pompilid makes a burrow or flies or drags the spider to a previously made burrow.[13] Because of the large body size of their prey, tarantula hawks usually will either construct burrows near the site of attack or use the host's own burrow or tunnel. Pompilids typically provide each of their larvae with a single prey/host, which must be large enough to serve as its food source throughout its development. Typically, a single egg is laid on the abdomen of the spider, and the nest or burrow is closed so the larva can develop without disruption by other parasites or scavengers.[13] The female wasp may then engage in spreading soil or other changes to the area, leaving the nest site inconspicuous. One species of spider wasp protects its nests by putting dead ants into the outermost chamber, where the ants' chemicals deter predators.[14][15]

I hope Princess Petra, Peter Parked Car, Pete Spiderman, and Sun Spider will be okay; i really like those four!
The Protomen enhanced my life.
x5 the little yellow guys? Truly a fate worse than death.
Yeah, I feel the premise of the series is kinda mean in that it introduces all these fun characters, or in some cases reintroduces them, only to kill a bunch of them :(
The Protomen enhanced my life. When I first read Shathra's origin I thought it was a joke cause it's... really petty even by comic book villain standards. (I think mainly due to the limited page/panel time.)
The Protomen enhanced my life. There was a game I was playing where a God turned evil because she was made fun of as a kid because of a mark on her face.
Yeah Gods in mythology are petty but this is a whole new level.
So out of curiosity, I read the first issues of End, and yeah WTF? Peter gets unmasked in public, has his name said out loud and he's not exposed?
Lots of shit going on as well, I could barely keep track of all these Spider-People.
I do not care for Morlun or the Spider-deity lady. Like I said, these characters don't feel like Spider-Man villains, they feel like Doctor Strange baddies.
The best part was Peter going " OH %@#^@*(^ we doing Spider-Verse again?
Yeah this event isn't for me at all. Skip.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"A lot of this reads like Slott is just trying to troll readers of Wells a bit with this run and knows he's got Protection from Editors so he can get away with it.
I'm actually having fun with it, it's not the best thing Slott's ever written (to be fair, he rarely writes Spider-man well at all), but at least the pacing is better and the things it does explain are actually explained

Well there's something that Slott said that stood out to me, that he would be fine with writing married Spider-Man with MJ as he is with unmarried Spidey.
Like by the end of the day, he and the rest of Marvel have certain obligations from top management. He doesn't have anything personal against MJ or anything despite doing a lot questionable things from time to time.
And hell, I loved the interactions with Spidey's family in the Renew verse whether it's Slott or Conway.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I think Slott had some good parts of his run, but he was largely plagued by not writing Peter Parker very well, focusing too much on setting up the next storyline over actually writing the current one, and being edgy/riling up fans.
I think the self-contained stories manage to dodge the latter two (can't get caught up in foreshadowing if you've got nothing to foreshadow!) and I guess the married Peter reigns him in from writing him as a man-child.
The story actually runs through issues #26 to #29
Mayday is back to her mid 2000s look with the long hair, and Benjy's older. Could possibly mean Slott's Spider-Verse version was indeed just a variant after all, the way Tom D implied, and this is the real one. Either that or a time jump.
