Spider-Man General Discussion

Go To

This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.

  • Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
  • Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
  • Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.

Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.

Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.

Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

     Original Thread OP
Since everyone likes talking about him. I know little about him(Ironically,I got nearly all I know about him from a Batman thread),but he's apparently important so I made this thread. Enjoy.

I feel like Kindred being the twins also makes his/their name make more sense. Artificially created or not, they're genetically Norman and Gwen's children and Harry's siblings, and thus they're literally "kindred" to the people that Peter's greatest screwups revolve around.

Bleeding Cool have confirmed at least some of the leaks are real, they even have scans

God the Osborns' hair is so bizarre. What was Ditko going for when he first drew that? White-guy cornrows?

It’s tight curly wavy hair that’s been slicked back

It’s a real hair type apparently

There was a famous actor with that hair type around the time the character was introduced so that was probably the inspiration but I can’t remember the guys name

Edit: Character page says it’s Joseph Cotten

So, Chameleon, Mysterio, and Robo-Harry were the masterminds all along, but I wonder how the legitimately supernatural elements, like the aforementioned zombie Sin-Eater, the brain centipedes, and Mephisto himself tie in here?

Obviously three leaked panels is too little to tell if the issue will be good just yet, but does anyone else find it oddly endearing that Spencer had classic villains be behind this epic Fix Fic storyline? I feel like a lot of writers would've just brought in some bland, overpowered new character like Solus.

Can't wait for it to be revealed everything Norman did since he came back has been because ai harman messed with his mind via mysterio

If this winds up being true then it means Norman lied for years and disgraced Gwen's name all to piss off Peter.

Fucking petty.

And he's still doing it, having made a point of leering off of Gwen like a pervy old fuck and mentioning how "intimately he knew her" despite it not being true at all.

He's a fucking liar.

Lets not forget the Clone Saga or the time Norman replaced Aunt May with a lookalike and then had her die just to make Peter sad so that he could one day show up with the real Aunt May and go 'haha you cried for nothing, jackass'

Norman isnt lying. He is caught off guard when harmen ai is explaining that Gabe and Sarah aren't his and Gwen's kids and that gwen was too good for him. He had no clue it wasn't real

Ok but like...

Mary Jane KNEW. Because Gwen confided in her. So was that fake or like, did the Chameleon or Mysterio dress up as Gwen and then pretend to be nutted by Norman to make their fake confession to Mary Jane more real?!

[up]they brought up how mary jane used to see mysterio's psychiatrist persona a few issues back. so presumably when she was going to those therepy meetings he was brainwashing her

I think I may have figured out how Sarah Stacy can be involved with Kindred despite last being seen as a good guy, and how Gabe and her can spend all their time monologuing Harry's problems, it's The A.I Harry channelling himself through them using the mind-altering/controlling centipedes that affected the Sinister Six factions

I think it may be better since it appears Gwen wasn’t impregnated by Norman after all.

Norman (and MJ) were hypnotized into thinking Norman and Gwen had sex, because the Osborns like incredibly convoluted revenge schemes.

After all "Peter's dead parents come back except oops they're now dead robots" was a previous dead Harry scheme.

....Huh? What? Is that legit? Look I know the Osborn's obsession with absurd complicated revenge schemes is a writing tool but this is just a whole new level. What logic did Harry use when doing this scheme? When did he come up with the idea? AND who are the twins then? A.I?
