This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I think a character commented on it in The Ultimates, noting that he had some kind of indescribably accent or inflection (Doctor Strange said something similar about Gwenpool and her bubbles).
Miles and his characters don't have it, I guess because they were cosmically integrated into 616 by the Molecule Man.
So, people in the Ultimate universe talk in a normal way, and in the prime earth they are always shouting?
Ultimate Secret WarsWell. I will now be reading every comic as though every character is speaking unnecessarily loudly at all times.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.I was researching One More Day and found out "It's magic. We don't have to explain it" is a case of Beam Me Up, Scotty!, and was coined by a Spidey fan writing in.
Quesada, upon being asked why he essentially responded with "It's magic. We don't need to explain it," in regards to the story, said that other Marvel characters used magic and no one needed an explanation for those.
A different part of the interview said that OMD was a reason why Spidey unmasked in Civil War since they already had an out. "In the end, knowing what that story was going to be is what allowed us to go ahead with the unmasking of Spider-Man in "Civil War" — we had our "way out" ahead of time, it was a great place to be. "

I just realized that One More Day is an extended What If
It has a point of divergence that changes things inexplicably
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYou know how OMD went the way it did because Quesada didn't want kids to think divorce was OK?
Well in the Spider-Verse movie, Apparently they're going to teach kids divorce is OK

I'd be slightly less angry if One More Day had been a teachable moment about divorce
Instead of the benefits of satanic bargaining
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOkay between this and what happens to May in Insomniac's Spider-Man this cannot be a coincidence. Someone up there hates OMD as much as the fans do.
What happens in spoiler?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIn Insomniac's Spider-Man game, a virus is unleashed upon the city and Aunt May is among those infected. Peter is faced with using the limited antidote to save a near-death May or allowing doctors to use it as a chemical base to develop enough cure for everyone; he chooses to save everyone. Before dying, May reveals that she knows he is Spider-Man and that she is proud of him.
Nice
Forever liveblogging the AvengersFUCK OFF, MORLUN. STAY DEAD.
My various fanfics.
That's both the proper reaction, and darkly funny at the same time.
I know you're saying that it's good he chose to save those people (especially since May told him too, or to be more precise, told him he already knew what he had to do), but saying nice about an old woman dying could sound so wrong if not for context.
But since it's you, I'll assume that was your evil plan.
One Strip! One Strip!Morlun should have stayed dead after his first arc or even The Other.
Or, at the very least, he should have been kept away from Spidey. That forgotten story where he rampaged through Wakanda, trying to eat T'Challa, wasn't bad.
Morlun eats animal "totems." Spider-Man is a Spider Totem, I'm assuming Black Panther is a Panther Totem.
Huh there’s potential in that.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I can't believe I'm doing this, but to play (pun not intended) Devil's advocate for OMD!Peter... a life versus a marriage and one life versus eight million lives are not exactly equivalent dilemmas.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Yeah, that's it. A belligerent Wakandan tribe magically resurrected Morlun after his death in The Other because they thought that he would been able to kill T'Challa and end the Black Panther line forever by devouring Bast the Panther God's current avatar/totem.

For a plot point that a lot of fans disliked during JMS' run, the whole "Spider Totem" thing has gone surprisingly far.
How many times can you bring out a character that the audience hates before you would decide to give up on them? Or how many bad runs can one character have on their runs before they just leave them on the shelf?
Wake me up at your own risk.People still hate it from what I've seen. Just because it's still used doesn't mean people actually like it.
There was an interesting idea behind the totem, but unfortunatly all the potential was just tainted by how much of a mess The Other was, and now it's basically just used as an in-story excuse for vampires to kill popular characters
That's a thing that the Maker does. Since he came from the Ultimate Universe, he always speaks with the regular upper and lower case, rather than all upper case, like is normal for comics.
