This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Has it been announced who will take over for Bendis at this point? Seems like something Marvel would have prepped for by the time Bendis went public.
Also, how is Venom now, anyways? Seems like Venom, Inc. was bad/aggressively mediocre and that Poison X is just starting.

Renew Your Vows: Ouch. Have to feel bad for Peter in this one...everyone's on his case, the students even school him on their use of digital platforms while he tries to lecture them on the old stuff...Annie being a moody teen is just embarrassed by him being in school
Amazing Spider-Man Annual Happy birthday Peter...oh, and MJ shows up at the party (after showing Peter around her work earlier on)

Liz has discovered Flash's Anti-Venom identity, simply by looking over the security feeds at Alchemax during the events of "Venom Inc". She claims to have deleted the footage to protect Flash's secret, but then requests his assistance in backing up her security team as the company has caught wind somebody intends to steal hi-tech equipment they're working on. Also, Mary Jane appears at some point in this issue, presumably to set up her and Peter's kiss in the next issue
Also, check out Mephisto's profile. OMD is referenced as a "key issue"

- Ben Reilly: The Scarlet Spider #14: Kaine saves football players and his possible new GF from Hippo while Ben slaps around retired civvie Mysterio.
- X-Men: Blue #21: We're Venom

Had a blast with the newspaper strip today. MJ wants to help out, but Peter manages to persuade her not to follow him and Bruce back to the Everglades to confront Lizard by reminding her of her contractual obligations to the movie studios...she's due for more public appearances, and if she doesn't turn up, the lawsuit will sting harder than The Lizard!
MJ says "you got a point Tiger" and is just beaming as Peter and Bruce leave the hospital, and Bruce tells Peter he wishes he had Peter's way with the women!

I don't care who does it, but I just want that One More Day causing monster to be decked by someone. I'll even accept Katie Power doing the decking if it means I can get some satisfaction out of it.
Marvel has released the "Fresh start" teaser image, and I noticed something: Miles Morales is still using the Spider-Man suit. Does this mean that he will change his name but retain the costume? (the whole point at the end of "Spider-Men II" was to be his own man). Or did someone come to their senses and realized that "Spy-D" was a really awful name?
Also, Spider-Gwen is not there. Does it mean that her book will be closed? Or is she absent because she's from another dimension?
Ultimate Secret Wars796 was decent Phil Urich is back, Peter and Flash beat down his hench goons, Jameson saves Peter, and MJ admits she's missed taking care of Peter and invites him into her apartment when he comes to collect his clothes from her. Meantime, all of Norman's facial scars are cured by the Carnage symbiote

It's been a while and my memory is fuzzy, but I dislike his take on a lot of characters compared to their mainstream counterparts, some changes just seem petty and deliberately spiteful. He makes Peter too incompetent, and Fury's characterization is all over the place - he's either a reasonable authority/father figure to Peter or amoral monster, nothing in-between.
Oh yeah, and it seems really hypocritical to make Kraven a joke because he doesn't have powers while simultaneously making Kingpin much more competent than he should be.
Kingpin is probably the center of the biggest continuity issue in the series - he returns back from his original fleeing the country twice, and the second time they act like this is the first time he came back from America and make no reference to the earlier story arc where he comes back and stays in the country. Other things from around this time are also inconsistent, like Black Cat just being around and Spider-man hating her for some reason? It feels like the comics just ignored a large section of the middle issues for some indiscernible reason. It's super jarring.
