This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Osborn murdered Gwen Stacy and a baby.
If he actually felt any guilt, he'd turn himself in.
That's even undoing the fact that he's only brainwashed into being good like Doctor Light.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Too much magic in Spider-Man. It's going to take like twenty years of absolutely no magic except maybe the inevitable crossovers, to wash the stench of it off at least the pages of the Peter Parker solo books. I could understand, if Peter Parker the school teacher was actually played out, if Peter Parker the married man had actually been taken to it's logical conclusion, if Peter Parker the business technological entrepreneur had absolutely ran it's course, but there's so many more interesting things Spider-Man could be coasting on than multiverse! It's another Earth, like 616 except not really, and oogah boogah abrakadraba hocus pocus devil deals! It's Spider-Man, he sticks to walls, takes pictures, and lives in a crappy overpriced apartment. Doctor Strange is borough over! Hell, Moonknight is too, since he can't stay in Los Angels for some reason(not that Moonknight ever needed literal magic but fine, make Khonshu the actual god and leave Spider-Man out of it!). Captain Britain/Excalibur/Mi 13 are across the pond. In the next state there's literally and x-mutant named Magik who rules Limbo. Why Spider-Man?
Basic Spider-Man stuff should be, if not things the men writing him have actually done, at least have direct references to, should be able to find direct references to. He should be one of the easier Marvel characters to write. From where I stand/sit, multiverses and magic takes a lot more brain power to tell stories about and are a lot easier to screw up(such as sin shooting guns, I didn't realize we were reading the Ghost Riders/Hellstroms) Why complicate Spider-Man with that, when there's plenty of easy stuff left milk out of him? Hell, when there's no longer easy stuff there's still the brain eating body horror alien symbiotes. I don't even think they're played out yet enough to rely on gods(though Marvel's love of diet Amatsu Mikaboshi proves someone disagrees with me on that front as well).
It baffles me that America Chavez needed the goddesses, demiurges, aliens and demons taken out of her story, but that's all fine for Spider-Man. The Wonder Woman parody needs to be more down to Earth, but the man with the amazing power of sticking to walls got an eight part series doing his best Sorcerer Supreme impression. She should be one in space with Galaxy Guardians or Exiles(though Guardians are still better for Spider-Man than Mephisto) If I write Spider-Man the first story will be something like a completely ordinary crook getting away, because Spider-Man tries to climb up a wall that can't bear his weight and falls on him. He will then be doing completely mundane detective work to find the thief. Even before the undoing of One More Day, that's how you'll know I one day got a job at Marvel, when there's an ongoing plot about the failing New York infrastructure impeding the wall-crawler's wall crawling, and alakazam won't solve it. The Amazing Spider-Man And The Ingrown Toenail, a five part series of improper grooming hindering his wall crawling until he can save up enough for a pedicurist to fix the issue. Spider-Man And The Unlawful Eviction:Featuring Daredevil, Or She-Hulk, Whichever Lawyer Editorial Allows!. Spider-Man Versus Food Poisoning. Peter's class/coworkers don't show up for school/work because a recall notice came out too late and now Parker finds out he's got it too. How can sick to his stomach Spider-Man hope to stop the Walrus now?
Buldogue's lawyerPeter has had a recurring ulcer problem
. He's pretty unhealthy despite his powers.
Well, the one time he was popping pills it caused the ulcer. He just can't win.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Like I said, the whole thing is a farce, so I'm not taking it too seriously, but at least Norman is actually growing as a character and isn't a perpetual 20s man child who keeps failing, so I might as well enjoy his character.
Sure he killed Gwen Stacy and the baby, but Gwen is alive again, and the baby is Schrödinger's canon because Mephisto, so I don't care.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"They acted like it was resurrection but it was honestly just convoluted cloning. The Laura running around now was a clone and the original one became an old woman and died.
Krakoa eggs method is just a more involved method of jackals cloning. It at least didn't possibly turn you into a zombie except now it's revealed you can get sick and lose control of your powers from egg cloning.

I'm pretty sure given everything we've seen the rule of thumb is if you're dead when you're cloned, your soul re-enters your body, but if you're still alive, a new soul is created for the duplicate.
It's gonna be fun on the bun!Maine is already effectively retired he was gone for years between hunting Ben down because he was evil and then he returned in spider-geddon where it was a joke that he had been cut by the blade early on in the story and that's why he wasn't involved or mentioned. And then he returned to try to hunt Ben down again before realizing chasm is stupid and he wants to drink beer on a Mexican beach.
Anyway I'd keep miles maybe just tone down him getting new powers/abilities every few months, send Gwen back to her old earth permanently, mercy kill off chasm, let kaine be happy away from these spider-people like how original Miguel is. Just have him get a happy end. I like Anya but wish she would go back to being her own thing. Jessica should stay away from the spider stuff. Oh I like silk, and her minis I hope she can get more stuff.

Osborn's a good candidate for the Loki treatment. Give him a long arc that has a strong, definite ending - probably a heroic death.
Position it so that when someone resurrects him as a villain four years later he's not quite that Osborn, the one who still got his ending.
That said... the MCU version was saved and cured. Maybe synergy might give him a shot at staying clear of villainy? Maybe.
