What are our assassin friends doing? Just watching the fun? or have they gone home or something?

As I noted, they witnessed the event with Jarl attempting to expose Sakkaku. After that, they could have returned to the bureau or stayed. If you want to use them you can. Also, Sakkaku and Eyes (who you should add some character tropes for him to the trope page, btw) will report what happened with their contracts if the group stays for the night.

I love the idea. It did seem to me like he was relying on them more than himself, and being genre savy, I knew that meant bad things were coming. I love the idea! Let's make it happen!

I'm just wondering, but... you read darths and droids, don't you?

That's what I thought. I kept thinking "Where have I seen that goatee before?"

I've read the first couple of pages but not much beyond that. Although, now that you mention it, that awesome goatee does look familiar.

While I do know of certain future events, I sadly don't know this. The only thing I can think of is those villages that may or may not be attacked that was mentioned a bit before we left for the Iron Mountains.

I have a very vague idea, but I'm gonna leave it to Nick to take care of it.

'K. So we just need to wait for him...

I'm just sort of waiting for someone to post on one of the RP's I'm in. I'm currently trying to get the Dragon Age RP revived, and it's going alright thus far.

Would you like to join my Tortall RP? We just need more people to kick it off.

I'm considering making my own RP based off of the world my books take place in. I might not considering my last two RPs died horribly (my first died when my staff randomly left mid-site building and the other has pretty much died due to everyone leaving).

I don't know, I might have better luck if I just leave it on here (my first was created on InvisionFree before the merge and the second started on another forum before I moved it to ZetaBoards so everything could be organized properly). So... yeah.

Well, I might as well give it a shot. I'll post the links after I've worked up the plot.

Alternatively, I could let you decide when it takes place.

  • Pre-Dark Ages: Somewhat similar to your standard Final Fantasy setting. There are many airships, knowledge is abundant. This is the most undeveloped time period.

  • Dark Ages: Access to other continents or islands is pretty much cut off. Valeun is under the control of the Dark One (whom the party may face but they'd have to lose so if this is chosen the ending would be a downer one). Technology level is way down. There's only two airships left in Valeun(which the party couldn't find). Alternatively, it could take place in one of the other two continents (Zeal or Maweyla [I think, I don't remember the name and I can't access my SD card with all the info] home of the elves [other races are also there]). Second most developed time period for Valeun only.

  • Post-Dark Ages: Access to other continents is by boat only. Civilization is slowly returning to Valeun.
    • Rebuild Era: The kingdom of Feldenstein rules the entirety of Valeun. Depending on which King is in control, there's either a lot of fighting going on or some.
    • Civil War Era: A group of many mage-oriented towns on the far east coast of Valeun are rebelling against the corrupt rule of Feldenstein. If we start in the middle of it, Sameria would start out somewhat small but would grow as the plot continues.
    • Exploration Era: Falhanor has been created and the Dividing Wall has been built to help keep the peace between Feldenstein and Sameria. Many vessels are going out and discovering new islands. The books start near the end of this era.
    • War of Powers Era: Feldenstein and Sameria are at war once again. The cause of this war seems to lie somewhere other than the two major powers though. The books deal with this era (it doesn't last very long).
    • Invasion Era: Both Feldenstein and Sameria, both weak from the short but bloody war, are invaded my a massive army of orks lead by the series Big Bad. If the RP takes place here, the ending would more than likely be a Downer one. The books end when this era ends as it also covers the rule of the Big Bad.

  • Post-Books: It would take place about thirty years after the series. Personal, one man flying machines have been created by the mechanic that traveled with the heroes of the series. The party could also find the heroes airship (since it was hidden on a remote island and abandoned). It would take me a bit to think of a threat for the party to face in this one but provides the most opportunities since there is no timeline to follow for this period.

I'll let you guys chose when the RP should take place. If you want more details on a specific era then just ask.

It sounds pretty good, actually

I'd need to know the races I could choose, of course, and I'd like to know if they've discovered gunpowder yet. You know, did they have flintlocks in one time period, or what?

  • Blood Elves
  • Dryads (can travel anywhere with the help of magic and something from their tree [say, a staff made from it]. One of the protagonists is a dryad)
  • Half-Elves
  • High Elves
  • Wood Elves
  • Humans
  • Naiads (good luck with that one. A vial of water from the river maybe?)
  • Orks
  • And another type of human that is native to Maweyla but hasn't been developed yet

As for black powder, they have cannons and flintlock pistols in the Pre-Dark Ages and they are just developing them (again, thanks to the mechanic who traveled with the main party) in the Post-Books time.

So, could you give a description of the characteristics of each race? I want to know which type of elf suits my prefered character type best.

why not make an RP for every one of the ages, and each successor age has a note in the sign up thread first post about some of the effects that the characters' actions have had on the age.
