If you're not familiar with Death Note you've got no idea why this guy is a "genius", and as far as I can see he's just holding a spoon up to his mouth, nothing obviously sweet.

Maybe we could get a shot of someone doing complicated equations, or reading a thick book, with a desert or chocolate sitting close to hand?

Either L or Mello would be great examples, but the anime probably won't convey the genius aspect well and stills from the manga will probably be too text-heavy.

First thing I think of is Kokonoe from Blaz Blue.

[1] [2]

I wish I could find a background rip of her laboratory in the game's story mode. Her lab is filled with candy left and right. The closest i can give is her lab from the "Help Me, Professor Kokonoe" segments of the game, but the candy is less pronounced in the background.

I think that one works alright. Unless we find a better one, that would do.

I like the scientists spotting the ice cream truck outside the window and booking for it.

Nice. Here is the same image with a levels/contrast adjustment.

[up] That's a little harsh looking. I like the original better.

The Far Side image is great...don't really have a preference between the two versions.

So the only question that's left: with or without caption?

Personally, I think the cartoon does all the work, so no caption needed.

Adding it to the page. Should it be shrunk? It's rather gigantic on the page.
