This is a thread where, as the title implies, our avatars (from our galleries) are posting in an in-universe forum thread. You can drop in any time with pretty much any character you want, whether from existing works or your own OCs. Though most of it is done through forum posts, some "in-person" interactions between characters is also fine.
Even if this is a more casual RP, there are still some rules and general RP etiquette to keep in mind for everyone to have a good time and feel comfortable:
- NO GODMODDING. Godmodding is when you decide what happens to another player's character, and is generally frowned upon. In particular, avoid injuring and especially killing someone else's character; fighting is ok but let the other player decide if the hit connects. If your plot idea requires something to happen to a different player's character, you'll want to privately discuss this with them and if they're ok with that. This includes in-universe moderation.
- Be nice and respect other players' boundaries. Your character being mean or a jerk is one thing, but if someone gets uncomfortable about your behavior towards their characters, knock it off. Also do not force others into your story arcs; in general it would be a good idea to ask the other person first if they are interested, and plan it together if they are.
- If you have anything to say, ask about, ect. that is not part of the RP, you can put it under a spoiler tag [[spoiler: like this]]
- While almost any character is welcome, please avoid playing any real-life person who's mainly associated with controversies, drama and problematic behavior. We don't need that here.
- Have fun!
Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

Bradley: While I do not have disdain against humanity as much as the other homunculi, I do find them to be 'irritating' at times. Yes I do agree that love and companionship are one of their best assets but it is at the same time their greatest weakness. Attachments often clouds one judgement, especially if it involves death. People die, that's a fact. Yet it drove some humans to great lengths to defy that fact, even to the domain of 'playing God' itself. To bring someone dead back to life, one of the greatest alchemical taboo there is.
The Elric brothers, in their attempt to bring their mother back, the eldest lost his leg and the youngest lost their entire body. The elder brother had to sacrifice his arm next in order to bound his younger brother's soul to a suit of armor, effectively condemning him into a fate of someone incapable of feeling any basic human contact. Izumi Curtis, in her attempt to bring her stillborn baby, lost her fertility and several of her organs in the process, making her deathly ill and periodically cough blood.
Rex: Uh dude, I don't know my parents well but I'd sacrifice anything to see them alive. I don't think it's their fault.
Bradley: Really? But do you think it is worth it when you say you'll 'sacrifice anything'? Do you understand what you're talking about? Equivalent exchange is a harsh concept and force of our world. To gain something, another must be lost or 'sacrificed', and human transmutation is taboo for a reason. Would you sacrifice your ability to percieve the world? Your arms, your legs that you could use to help others? The being known simply as 'Truth' will often take something most important and symbolic to you. It could be anything. Your eyes, your tongue, your heart... yes those who survive the ordeal gain incredible alchemical knowledge in return, and they are a vital part of us Homunculi's plan too, but is it worth it in the end to try? Those that you tried to resurrect might not even be the same person. Nothing more than an emaciated, disfigured corpse, just barely having enough energy to breathe.
Rex: Okay crap that's scary. Question: I know a lot about chemistry, does that count as alchemy knowledge?
Noah: Could be, alchemy's just old world chemistry right?
Bradley: It is not limited to alchemists either. Love and bonds cloud the judgement of every human, making them do things that sometimes even proves fatal in the end. Maes Hughes died because he couldn't bring himself to shoot the one impersonating her wife, even if he could tell it wasn't her in the first place. The minions of Greed died in vain trying to protect their comrade. Greed himself, while a powerful homunculi in his own rights, lost because of the anger of seeing his 'possessions' death. Roy Mustang went insane with rage, almost becoming the thing he swore not to become in order to avenge Hughes' death.
While I do admit love is a powerful force, it is at the same time one's downfall.

Protection and power are overrated. I think you are very wise to choose happiness and love. Current avatar: Connie

] Cheese and rice, that's a lengthy one but I can see what you mean why you don't have most positive outlook on things.
Major exposition there. Funny enough, there's another named Greed here too but seems less screwed up than that one.
Wow, I'm sorry it's been that rough out there. It's true that positivity isn't the key to all situations. [2
] Hey there guys!

Hello, welcome to the thread Miss! Yes, he has been getting into a lot of fights around here. He's not here now though.
And he never seems like he's into anything else to do beyond that and drinking. He also got mad about kill stealing.Edited by MkayRose on Dec 24th 2024 at 5:28:32 AM

Just woke up and had breakfast with Nomi and Sym. Glow’s creepin’ in slowly. I give it two days.
(Rit has logged in.) Allow me..
(shoot! Unknown account has logged out.)
he gets into fights, drinks and never friggin listens to anyone here. He even tried to kill someone when they “stole his kill”. He’s rude, one track mind and needs to be dealt with cause we can’t just ignore him.

] I truly don't mind him but he should take it down a notch on his high level bloodlust.
Yeah and hold off on the drinking habit too.[2
] Ooh, that sounds nice glow's coming real soon!

Bradley: It is not as if the opposite of it isn't true either. Humanity's potential of destruction and cruelty is bigger than you think it is. Soldiers are willing to not only kill innocent people but some even relish in it, claiming they were 'following orders'. Which is why it's rather easy to manipulate them, in the end.
Rex: Dude. No offense. Your world frickin' sucks. Yeah Providence do have some battle-hungry agents but they're the minority. The majority joined just to make the whole Nanite Event stop.
Bradley: Perhaps.
J99908
Rex: Hey. Noah called it a night earlier so it's just me at the moment.
Danny: I'm here too. Hope Jazz isn't mad I'm staying up.
Eirigfi
Bradley: Hm, are you also called Greed? Interesting, you two look nothing alike.
