This is a thread where, as the title implies, our avatars (from our galleries) are posting in an in-universe forum thread. You can drop in any time with pretty much any character you want, whether from existing works or your own OCs. Though most of it is done through forum posts, some "in-person" interactions between characters is also fine.
Even if this is a more casual RP, there are still some rules and general RP etiquette to keep in mind for everyone to have a good time and feel comfortable:
- NO GODMODDING. Godmodding is when you decide what happens to another player's character, and is generally frowned upon. In particular, avoid injuring and especially killing someone else's character; fighting is ok but let the other player decide if the hit connects. If your plot idea requires something to happen to a different player's character, you'll want to privately discuss this with them and if they're ok with that. This includes in-universe moderation.
- Be nice and respect other players' boundaries. Your character being mean or a jerk is one thing, but if someone gets uncomfortable about your behavior towards their characters, knock it off. Also do not force others into your story arcs; in general it would be a good idea to ask the other person first if they are interested, and plan it together if they are.
- If you have anything to say, ask about, ect. that is not part of the RP, you can put it under a spoiler tag [[spoiler: like this]]
- While almost any character is welcome, please avoid playing any real-life person who's mainly associated with controversies, drama and problematic behavior. We don't need that here.
- Have fun!
Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

Blunt this may sound, but that's outright a waste of resources. Then again, if it would've made him a target, then it was perhaps a blessing in disguise. What happened to the estate, then? Also, [2]
good question.
Only you would consider something like that, you octomush. If it was you, you'd've taken that late sap's money like a mosquito draws blood.
Nonsense! I'm the peak of integrity.
You've admitted in this forum twice alone that you're engaging in politics. And that's without these people knowing what else you've been up to since the stuff with the new guy started. That ship ain't just sailed, it sank.
Blunt as always, Lord Yanma.

] Well to be fair, they are themed after the rings he collects and peaches are yellow inside. Kinda like those sweet peach rings candies!
Like of course you'd say that Candy Pakupaku, blue unfortunately is so shafted in the food department. Those drinks might come in handy for the party we got to set up for this Tuesday!
So, I tried Genshin for the second time yesterday, and having been to Tevyat in person, the differences between the game and the universe stick out like a sore thumb... Trees don't budge no matter how often you hit them with a sharp edge, bushes look like a bunch of intersecting texture planes, and you can hunt fish simply by swimming up to them and grabbing them straight out of the water. It almost felt like playing GTA in comparison to real life.
If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.
Ugh, I just woke up with a really bad headache. How was everyone's sleep? Mine was okay, somehow.
Mine was pretty good. It's quite sunny out. I think we're watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 together this morning at the theater, right?
Yep, along with my friends from my high school. And then I have to worry about exams.

I slept very nicely last night and we had an amazing pizza for breakfast! We got a lot of energy to burn sis!
We'd love to see that film today but we got some shopping to do. Let us know how good it is when it's done.
(x3) Spent all night fixing up God Tombo. For context: they're basically gigantic bug-machines that were used by the heroes of the ancient past. Now, they're the guardians of the Kingdoms. Tombo's N'Kosopa's patron. His code's still frazzled after that fight. At least his scripts won't collapse if he so much as sneezes. I however will collapse unless I chug some energy.
(x4) Wait, you just...go to video game worlds? How does that work?

"Doctor, I did say look for the Spymaster. Or should I say Spy....Master?"[1]
I don't. The Tevyat I visited is distinct from the Genshin game once you poke around long enough - I think I visited Albedo somewhere before New Year's. He was kind enough to test out a couple of glitches involving bodies of water (don't worry, he's fine), and... yeah. Also, his Mondstadt City gets occasionally damaged by Klee's bombs, while in Genshin, there's (probably) no such thing.
As for how I got there... Well, I don't exactly know how, but I believe there's a sentient entity responsible for transporting me between universes, and it's got a snarky sense of humour, because the first time I visited Tevyat, I got dropped right on top of a monster and had to rely on Albedo's help to defeat it.
Funny that you mention that. I've talked about Dyson Sphere Program here in the past before, and how there's plenty of differences between that game and the Dyson Sphere Program as I carried it out - like planet sizes or recipe complexity. But I don't mind, all in the name of having fun.

] Gigantic bug-machines? Reminds me when I dealt with that fool Roach Coach.
That was a gross situation, the sheer irony of facing a bug that can squash you.
Ah that's nothing to be bugged about, I'd love to see those buggers with the machines they're talking about!
Hrmph. I just got an invitation to my cousin Jozef's coronation today.
You mean Jozef I of Poland? Didn't he already have a coronation?
He already had three, in fact. This is his fourth coronation. Most of them are just to grant him new titles that he thinks it would be cool to have, so there will be more impressive-sounding titles to his name.
Today's coronation will grant him the title "King of Italy." For context, his kingdom does not hold any land in Italy or even remotely close to it, and Italy has not been a unified kingdom since the 11th century.

Not Tropeworthy: Evil Redhead Everything's ready. Me and Stefan have done a checkup on everything, and besides the usual unusual seismic activity, we haven't discovered anything broken.
Oh, also, if you see this, Stef, you might wanna go to bed at a reasonable time. I can try to help you with cooking tomorrow, but you still have more experience with that than I do.

ya mind telling me what poland is?
Our day is going great, the weather is fine and we did a lot of walking before the afternoon!
Good to hear that the movie did well, that makes me more enticed to see it! aroo.
Just gotta decide which day though, most likely the later part of next week.

I wonder where I would be in this video game version of Teyvat.
Aether has the opposite of main character syndrome: he has no idea how important he is.
A Mondstadt not being terrorized by my (absolutely beloved) sister? That would be a miracle. Also, what is a “video game?” You’ve mentioned it a lot before, but you seemed to act as if everyone would know it, so I just went along with that.
Just a wanderer.

Good to know. I hope this goes well.
(OOC: Apart from ~1 hour of church, I have nothing interrupting me tomorrow.)

ya mind telling me what poland is?
Alright, let me help...
Super Sheriff, do you know what "Europa" is? It's also spelled "Europe," if that helps. It's a continent on Earth.
Assuming you do know, Poland is a country in Europa. Here
◊ is a map of the continent, with Poland (or something roughly like it) coloured in green. The borders are a bit different, but it's in that general area.
Does this help?
(x1

From what I can tell, a "video game" is a kind of game that's simulated with technology. It's like you're using these advanced moving pictures, called "videos," to play a game instead of doing it yourself physically. At least that's my understanding.

Not Tropeworthy: Evil RedheadI can’t believe the Ark missed our birthday.
I did try. NSWRs can only accelerate so fast.
Apart from that, we found a Cambrian plant! Its scientific name is “Terminophyton cometii” if you were wondering(that means “Comet’s border plant”).
Don’t forget the Induan(earliest Triassic) trilobite we fished up! And the interesting part was that is wasn’t a proetid
!
You’re forgetting the important things: Triassic lobopods, Carboniferous megacheirans and Eocene hadrosaurs! (Also we got books!)
…the what?

Local chaetognath fan[1]
Believe it or not, Aether, you're the main playable character. The game has a party system, and you can have other characters join in - pretty much everyone with a Vision can join in on the fun! For some characters, you'll only get a marginally small chance at obtaining them with each pull, and pulls (or prayers, as they're called in-game) cost IRL money, so...
Gil already gave a good explanation, but I believe I've explained how you can use superconductors to make complex logic circuitry powered by Electro, right? You can use circuitry for more than making calculators, as the Explorer robot demonstrates, and one of those uses would be video games! One very primitive game would be Tic-Tac-Toe, which you could probably realize on a single circuit board, but with a proper screen, a game engine, logic handling, some decent RAM and GPU, and a bunch of 3d models and 2d textures, you can simulate Tevyat! Or Los Santos. Or Hoxxes IV. As you can tell by the Technobabble pothole, there's a whole lot more to explain - maybe I can get to that one day, but probably not in a single forum post.
Happy late birthday, forestgreen user.

When Dracula's Curse is manageable through grand melodies.

Maybe it's combination of factors, including the fact that I can be too confident sometimes. Sometimes overconfidence can be dangerous for me both physically and academics-wise.
It's also a reason why I try to be more cautious when it comes to homework and exercise.
