This is a thread where, as the title implies, our avatars (from our galleries) are posting in an in-universe forum thread. You can drop in any time with pretty much any character you want, whether from existing works or your own OCs. Though most of it is done through forum posts, some "in-person" interactions between characters is also fine.
Even if this is a more casual RP, there are still some rules and general RP etiquette to keep in mind for everyone to have a good time and feel comfortable:
- NO GODMODDING. Godmodding is when you decide what happens to another player's character, and is generally frowned upon. In particular, avoid injuring and especially killing someone else's character; fighting is ok but let the other player decide if the hit connects. If your plot idea requires something to happen to a different player's character, you'll want to privately discuss this with them and if they're ok with that. This includes in-universe moderation.
- Be nice and respect other players' boundaries. Your character being mean or a jerk is one thing, but if someone gets uncomfortable about your behavior towards their characters, knock it off. Also do not force others into your story arcs; in general it would be a good idea to ask the other person first if they are interested, and plan it together if they are.
- If you have anything to say, ask about, ect. that is not part of the RP, you can put it under a spoiler tag [[spoiler: like this]]
- While almost any character is welcome, please avoid playing any real-life person who's mainly associated with controversies, drama and problematic behavior. We don't need that here.
- Have fun!
Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

Update on the filter portal: there is no update. But there is strong use of the transit system between two of the three worlds that we're serving right now, and we've configured the connection to be a regular one.
Anyways, I think it's about time I moved out to NYC Central Park - I'll read all the new messages once I get back.
Meetup?

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.
Just woke up. Had a bit of trouble falling asleep, but afterwards I slept fine.
I slept great. How was everyone's sleep? What are your plans for today? Probably I'm gonna have to study and do a lot of homework again.
"Great, now this gal named Dawn is stalking me and complaining about no Sinnoh Megas! It's getting on my nerves!" - Taunie
I slept great too with little to no trouble. We're probably just going to chill out today for the most part.
I slept okay, might have needed it after staying up the past few days. It feels pretty relaxing outside despite it sprinkling here.

That's awesome to hear! Probably I should relax too.
Ugh, just now I heard a cracking noise in my spine. There's also an annoying tingling sensation there, and I'm not sure if there's something wrong with it or not. It's not very comfortable. I might need to stand up and stretch more again.

I know that kind of feeling, I sometimes get a little stiff when I sit down too long. Some nice stretching usually helps me out.
On the flip side, too much physical activity can also lead to stiffness so there's keeping a balance is important.

I will be waiting in Central Park for you, Icarus.
(OOC: You mean RP this in the Avatar Meetup Thread? If that works for you, then sure, I could do that.)
Sorry, but I don't think I've got your name. Who might you be?

] Like I'm probably guilty of walking too much but it helps me feel so good in the morning!
We gotta walk off those calories from a wonderful breakfast plus it's fun to do some exploring!
I got some reports this morning:
- There's an unidentified fleet in the North Sea. Maybe they're enemies, but maybe they're allies?
- There's more enemy activity in the Pannonian plains. If I had to guess, that's the "Other" trying to get to Mechanicsburg. Our Bohemian units can deal with it.
- In some positive news, the new King of Servia has restored all of their treaties with us. He'll be of help.
- Lastly, and of most interest to me personally, the British navy spotted an unusual amount of smoke coming from Rat Island. I know that's the island that Agatha and her expidition went to, and that's where we figured Lucrezia's allies were hiding out. With all that smoke, Agatha is either doing very good or very bad.
(OOC: The last one is in reference to something in the actual webcomic. If you're curious, Agatha's fine.)
JustForFun.How To Be An Anti HeroToday, my calculus homework is absolutely tedious. I need to graph a whole bunch of functions, and I'm really tempted to just pull out GeoGebra and take a screenshot.
You know, after lurking on a world politics related subreddit (r/anime_titties, no, this is not a joke), I realized that world politics is actually more complicated than I thought... There's a lot of politicians trying to muddy the waters in their favour, and you have to put in a sizeable effort to make out what's most likely the truth. Unfortunately for the general population (but luckily for the politicians), most people are too lazy to go through all that effort...
(x1)
Hm. I guess some things are just universal constants. Having been raised in a princely court, I grew up to have a hard time trusting most people I meet. I witnessed, for myself, how people in power will always be hiding something from everyone else. Heck, I even spent most of my youth pretending to be less competent than I really was to keep a low profile.
That reminds me: I've always felt that paranoia was my father's greatest vice. That's what made him kick Sturmvoraus off his ship, and that's what made him Agatha's enemy for so long. But now that I think of it, most of the time, that paranoia wasn't for nothing. I worked side-by-side with him myself, and several times a month, we'd uncover some conspiracy against the empire from our client states. There's a saying I've heard: "Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after you."
Honestly, even his mistrust of me wasn't unwarranted. I was literally born as part of a plan from a 200-year-old secret society.
JustForFun.How To Be An Anti HeroWhat the fuck?
True. If people want to organize themselves, politics forms, and once that has formed, there will inevitably be people trying to exploit the political systems. But world politics here is probably still tamer than in your universe.
If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.

True. You guys had to wait till the 20th century for the entire world to be at stake.
I'll take that as a question. In which case, I'm glad you asked.
I'm talking about the Loyal Order of the Knights of Jove, the first Storm King's honour guard. After his time, the Order went underground to track the Storm King's lineage till they had a good heir. They even hired a family of Sparks specializing in biology to arrange marriages and produce someone capable. It worked to well that not only did they have an heir, but several heirs.
The only problems:
1) The fact that they produced multiple heirs, all of them with a possible claim to the Storm King's throne, is the reason why I have so many cousins who hate me.
2) The Sparky family who works in biology that I mentioned was the Mongfish family. "Mongfish," by the way, is Lucrezia's maiden name. Yes, that Lucrezia, a.k.a. the "Other."
(x3)
Oh.
My apologies.
Then again, given all the different people you've met on this server, how is that the fact that made you do a double-take?
(x2&1)
Hi. I recognize Kirby here, but I don't think I've met you, Daroch. Nor have I met that purple/black star thing.

When Dracula's Curse is manageable through grand melodies.[1]
No need to apologize. I think the reason I took a double take was because of the sheer... complexity? Absurdity? Convolutedness of the situation? I mean, I don't know how many factors there have to be present for such a situation to form, but I'm pretty sure it's a lot.

Hey hey. I'm Stefan, and sorry for cussing - I don't usually do that. Fancy seeing you folks here.

Hello, everyone. I was thinking about your comments about Madam Herta yesterday, and I want you to know: it's even worse than you think. Despite designing and owning the station, she didn't pay a single Credit out of pocket for construction. That was all Lady Asta's family. She's the lead researcher, in case I haven't mentioned that. Her family has ties to the Interastral Peace Corporation, so calling her "wealthy" would be the understatement of the century. Lady Asta had an interest in it, so she funded construction. Even now, she's paying for pretty much everything. Which means that, from Madam Herta's perspective, it's a pet project that she's free to pay as much or as little attention to as she pleases. Nobody really minds, because Lady Asta is a much better boss than Herta, and Asta doesn't mind because, like I said, she has more money than most of us will ever see.

Honestly, I am surprised by how many times some very specific yet very impactful thing has happened. You know, things like two people first meeting at exactly the right and/or wrong time. That's probably one of the most bizzare things about our lives.

... Are you serious?
