This is a thread where, as the title implies, our avatars (from our galleries) are posting in an in-universe forum thread. You can drop in any time with pretty much any character you want, whether from existing works or your own OCs. Though most of it is done through forum posts, some "in-person" interactions between characters is also fine.
Even if this is a more casual RP, there are still some rules and general RP etiquette to keep in mind for everyone to have a good time and feel comfortable:
- NO GODMODDING. Godmodding is when you decide what happens to another player's character, and is generally frowned upon. In particular, avoid injuring and especially killing someone else's character; fighting is ok but let the other player decide if the hit connects. If your plot idea requires something to happen to a different player's character, you'll want to privately discuss this with them and if they're ok with that. This includes in-universe moderation.
- Be nice and respect other players' boundaries. Your character being mean or a jerk is one thing, but if someone gets uncomfortable about your behavior towards their characters, knock it off. Also do not force others into your story arcs; in general it would be a good idea to ask the other person first if they are interested, and plan it together if they are.
- If you have anything to say, ask about, ect. that is not part of the RP, you can put it under a spoiler tag [[spoiler: like this]]
- While almost any character is welcome, please avoid playing any real-life person who's mainly associated with controversies, drama and problematic behavior. We don't need that here.
- Have fun!
Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

Rick Riordan is the scribe for Camp Half-Blood, what?
Beyond that, yeah? They narrate from Percy's perspective, not from Riordan's. And there are a bunch of other books by him, which tell stories about other half-bloods, too.
Edit: don't remember much about the childcare thing or Luke Castellan, it's been a while since I read the books.

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.
Yeah, yeah, the Kronos business was bad optics, I know. Look, I'll concede that Kronos was no angel. But, c'mon, how many non-malicious ancient spirits have you met? If all of your options suck, you're kinda starved for choices.
(OOC: LMAO, I didn't expect Leo, but it's a welcome surprise. I assume you've read HoO, then?)
And... What's your name? Another half-blood, I'm guessing?
Not Tropeworthy: Evil RedheadAnother person from the same universe? Fancy seeing you here, Leo.
Hold on, Stefan. You know these people?
Kinda. From what I know, Leo made a flying warship to help prevent Gaia from waking up. I believe Heroes of Olympus tells that story, maybe you have it in your archives?
Would have to look it up. A flying warship does sound interesting

I come back to this thread after lab inspections, and apparently this happens? Imagine being related to the Greco-Roman gods. I thought my family was horrible.
Your family is horrible.
Yeah, but this is different horrible!

Harder than you'd think.

Bad afternoon to you too, Leo. I'm yet to have a bad run-in with your father, which is a plus.
I wouldn't jinx it, Alabaster, but I suppose it's too late to object, isn't it?
I assume you go to Camp Half-Blood, correct? If so, I just want to ask you something... how is the Hecate cabin doing?

That's good to hear. Even if we lost, the fact that my siblings are living safe and sound unironically makes my current predicament worth it.
Speaking of our "current predicament," remember the pit scorpions in the basement? I can't keep hitting them with this hockey stick forever, you know! Care to help a ghost out?

I have a question. How do your demigod abilities work exactly? Are they like Quirks (AKA superpowers) but inherited from gods? Do they function as superpowers on their own or do they have to be augmented with other stuff such as enchanted items?
"This girl named Dawn is endlessly complaining about what she calls 'Mega Evolution Absentia'. She's crazy!" - Dawn
(x1)
That was my first reaction as well, Miss.
(x2)
They're inherited, and they usually function on their own.
Not Tropeworthy: Evil Redhead![]()
I see. But I've also read that you guys use swords and crossbows and similar weapons anyway to compliment those abilities, is that correct? Also, I've heard about Greek fire and about how you guys often used it.
"This girl named Dawn is endlessly complaining about what she calls 'Mega Evolution Absentia'. She's crazy!" - Dawn
I mean, personally, I’m more used to my hammer than any sword or anything. That and fire. Regular, not Greek. I’m pyrokinetic. But anyway. “Often” is a bit of an overstatement. Greek fire is a weapon that we have, and it gets used sometimes. It’s a pretty dramatic measure, though, and not the kind of thing you find lying around in an armory.
Just a wanderer.
(x4)
Well, yeah, your powers aren't always able to give you everything you need at every moment.
Let's say your a Hermes kid. Lockpicking, sneakiness, and running fast are useful skills, but you'll still need weapons and stuff to fight things. Leo got it pretty spot-on in his post, too.
(x2)
Depends. Is your spaceship magical or something?
Not Tropeworthy: Evil Redhead[1]
Uh... barring the identity crystals, the materials they're made of all have a degree lower than 2.5, so probably not? What would I need to make them qualify as magical?
(x1)
By "magical" I mean if it's related to gods, monsters, the Mist, primordial archetypes of blah blah blah, and the like. I don't think your ship would have that stuff, so you'd be good.
Also, what do you mean by a "degree lower than 2.5" in this context?
Hey, Alabaster, I just sent you a PM explaining what all that "degree" stuff is about. Go check your PMS.
Thanks. Also, is "Gilgamesh Wulfenbach" really your legal name? I mean no offense here, but I suddenly feel a bit better about being named "Alabaster."
That's why most people call me "Gil" for short.

Aw, Styx, please don't tell me you take them as history.
(OOC: Percy Jackson works under Direct Line To Author, so huzzah for continuity!)
Let me guess: the author is Rick Riordan? The scribe for Camp Half-Blood? These books paint Percy as a brave and selfless hero? The villain is the evil traitor Luke Castellan, with his evil plan to implement basic childcare laws?
