This is a thread where, as the title implies, our avatars (from our galleries) are posting in an in-universe forum thread. You can drop in any time with pretty much any character you want, whether from existing works or your own OCs. Though most of it is done through forum posts, some "in-person" interactions between characters is also fine.
Even if this is a more casual RP, there are still some rules and general RP etiquette to keep in mind for everyone to have a good time and feel comfortable:
- NO GODMODDING. Godmodding is when you decide what happens to another player's character, and is generally frowned upon. In particular, avoid injuring and especially killing someone else's character; fighting is ok but let the other player decide if the hit connects. If your plot idea requires something to happen to a different player's character, you'll want to privately discuss this with them and if they're ok with that. This includes in-universe moderation.
- Be nice and respect other players' boundaries. Your character being mean or a jerk is one thing, but if someone gets uncomfortable about your behavior towards their characters, knock it off. Also do not force others into your story arcs; in general it would be a good idea to ask the other person first if they are interested, and plan it together if they are.
- If you have anything to say, ask about, ect. that is not part of the RP, you can put it under a spoiler tag [[spoiler: like this]]
- While almost any character is welcome, please avoid playing any real-life person who's mainly associated with controversies, drama and problematic behavior. We don't need that here.
- Have fun!
Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

I have no idea what these Raptures are, but yes. The greatest mystery behind my civilization's collapse is why it happened, and possibly who could've done it to begin with. I'm travelling with my two best human friends Naomi and Bridget, who found me sleeping in one of the ruined hideouts, along with Big Sis to find the answers.
Now my mom is asking me to write all of these online letters. This is getting stressful for me. Doesn't she know I have an assignment due in 3 days?
My brother can be like that too, but it's because we have more than just homework to do. Sometimes we have to manage multiple tasks. That's an unfortunate part of life.

Aww, poor Mina. Have you tried talking with her to make a compromise? aroo.
Yeah, that might be a solution to help.
Studying for an assignment is already enough work. As said above, see if can reason with your mom about it.

That's a good idea. I'll ask her if I can split time for the rest of the day to write the letters quickly and then for that remaining time then finish up the work. Actually, it's good to switch from one task to another if I feel too tired; that way, I can make progress on multiple things.
That approach also works for me a lot.

As for what you missed, for starters, Castle Heterodyne decided to play two different April Fools' Day jokes on us. The latter of which involved screwing with our profile pictures, hence the current... You know... This.
Cool! Care to say what happened during the mission?

Not Tropeworthy: Evil RedheadYou just missed the almighty Lunatic say that I live in a separate universe called the Lunaverse, where all the things that happen are different than the.. Kisekae OCs' universe. And also April Fools Day, too.OOC

"Happy Halloween, I suppose..."
FYI, they're characters from my Light Novel that I'm writing. I only used Kisekae to come up with their general designs since I don't have the means to commission official art for them at the moment.

Unfortunately for you, the arm story is unexceptional. I was born with one arm and one benign, vaguely arm-shaped deformity. Which is all well and good, until I fall down the stairs when I’m 7, and break the thing. Doctors and parents decide it’s not worth the trouble, and a prosthetic would be more useful anyway, so we just get rid of it, and here we are.
For our mission, we had to accompany a unique squad of Nikkes and their commander on the surface. We had engaged multiple minor Raptures to a massive Tyrant-class that we effortlessly destroyed.
Very well, though how did you get many prosthetic arms?

Yo buddies, still tropin’?
You see, being made of metal and plastic, prosthetics do not grow with the person they are attached to. Now, I was 7 when I got my first one. People grow a lot between 7 years and adulthood. Get the picture?
And some of them have fingers broken off or stopped working for various reasons. Even in a desk job like mine, Nexus in general isn’t a perfectly safe place.

Just a wanderer.
So it appears that some of the flowers have begun to appear in April this month. Meaning that spring is well appearing as of now.
That's cool. I see some daffodils and sunflowers blooming outside my window, so that's nice. By the way, I was able to write those online emails with my mom's help and we were able to get that task done. Tomorrow morning I can ask for help regarding the homework at the professor's office hours and then I can finish that last part of the homework and submit it so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Impressive!
Hello there, Mr. Hall, nice to meet you. My name is Gilgamesh Wulfenbach, but you can call me 'Gil.'
Please excuse my profile picture. It's someone's idea of an April Fools' Day joke that overstayed it's welcome.

Oh? What is this "Nexus" you mention?
Not Tropeworthy: Evil Redhead
Do you guys have any hopes for this upcoming week? I hope I find some more news about upcoming trailer music albums, and see if any of them are sound-design thriller ones. Having more sound-design albums would be a nice change from the most recent onslaught of orchestral albums.
Hopefully next week I can get my homework done and try some new things. Not sure what I want to try, but I'll make that decision when I get there.

Did Cam not mention it? Classic him. TNA stands for “The Nexus Archive”. The word “Nexus” in the name refers partially to the general meaning of the word, a connected group, but also the hub universe that we and our sister organizations use.
I would like to note that I copied and pasted most of that text from the FAQ site, and am not afraid to do it again if you have more questions. Determining what information is safe for public access is not my job, so I’m just gonna default to direct quotes from public sources for the moment. If you have any questions about me (or Cam, he’s kinda a big shot around here, so I know a lot about him), though, go ahead!

Us, we're planning on taking a nice relaxing cruise to relieve the stress from our exams.
Consider this an extra credit field trip, ehe.
I wonder what new locations we'll visit?
Ufufu! Sounds fun. I'll tag along and relax these old ball joints of mine.
You're coming along too, Big Sis? That's wonderful!
A cruise? On the sea?
With that in mind, I wish us Nikkes would like to enjoy things that you girls have, though the Ark has fun stuff as well…
Ball joints?
I hope I’m not rude in asking this girls, but how tall are dolls like you?
Edited by MorganFoulke on Apr 2nd 2023 at 10:28:31 AM
Yo buddies, still tropin’?
We're about the same height as humans, more or less, but the height of individual Dolls can vary. For example, I'm the shortest of my group even with my heels on, but I'm still very close to the Naomi and Bridget's heights. Meanwhile, Big Sis is the tallest, dwarfing Naomi and Bridget even without her heels.
No kidding. Narnia's 7-inch heel shoes make her look like a giant by comparison, but with her natural height without her shoes, she's barely a head taller than us.
I'll take that as a compliment. I try my best to keep my beauty standard in line with my elegant posture. Ufufufu!
He probably did, and I probably just wasn't there to hear him. What work does your organization do across universes? I believe Sturmvoraus mentioned something about you guys archiving information on them, or maybe I'm getting you guys mixed up with someone else.
...Honestly, this profile picture joke is getting old. I'll put things back to normal by tomorrow.
Thank you!

Not Tropeworthy: Evil RedheadHey Uirst, would it be a bad idea to give the Sparks access to a cleanroom?

Nexus Archives archives data on a wide variety of universes. They're basically like Exotic Ventures, but way better at archiving, and probably don't have an insane resource capacity.

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.
Last time I dealt with something that had Nexus in its name, it was lead by a power hungry bastard who I had to kill myself. Tell me, are you familiar with anything by the name of Project Nexus?
Checking in on this account after leaving the site, MAN that is a cringy forum post history. Daaamn. Never again.

Right now, I'm trying to uncover the truth of the disaster by looking for archives all around Florentia. Maybe... just maybe... By finding out the truth, there's a chance that we may be able to reconcile with our past and rebuild our lost civilization from scratch.
