This is a thread where, as the title implies, our avatars (from our galleries) are posting in an in-universe forum thread. You can drop in any time with pretty much any character you want, whether from existing works or your own OCs. Though most of it is done through forum posts, some "in-person" interactions between characters is also fine.
Even if this is a more casual RP, there are still some rules and general RP etiquette to keep in mind for everyone to have a good time and feel comfortable:
- NO GODMODDING. Godmodding is when you decide what happens to another player's character, and is generally frowned upon. In particular, avoid injuring and especially killing someone else's character; fighting is ok but let the other player decide if the hit connects. If your plot idea requires something to happen to a different player's character, you'll want to privately discuss this with them and if they're ok with that. This includes in-universe moderation.
- Be nice and respect other players' boundaries. Your character being mean or a jerk is one thing, but if someone gets uncomfortable about your behavior towards their characters, knock it off. Also do not force others into your story arcs; in general it would be a good idea to ask the other person first if they are interested, and plan it together if they are.
- If you have anything to say, ask about, ect. that is not part of the RP, you can put it under a spoiler tag [[spoiler: like this]]
- While almost any character is welcome, please avoid playing any real-life person who's mainly associated with controversies, drama and problematic behavior. We don't need that here.
- Have fun!
Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

(*Arrives with Marnie and the Solgaleo*) Here now. I have my Solgaleo with me. Let me know if anything happens. If Solgaleo ends up getting too tired (which I doubt), we can also use my Lunala if Lunala wants to help.
You have a Lunala too?
Yeah. Anyway, I think this will be successful.
"This girl named Dawn is endlessly complaining about what she calls 'Mega Evolution Absentia'. She's crazy!" - DawnOOC: I'd be open to doing an RP of the birthday party. But if we do it, wouldn't the Avatar Meetup Thread
be a better place to RP the party?
That said, it sounds like a hard thing to RP in full — I don't know how we'd RP a whole birthday party in the TVT forums. So I understand if you just want the party's events to be implied instead of acted out; unless you have a plan.
Hmm, a "Solgaleo," now? What's that? Sounds like a sort of lion.

It's a Legendary Pokemon that I caught when I was traveling with Marnie to the Alola region. For some reason like Lunala it's able to open up wormholes between dimensions.

How would the in-person meetup RP work again? I don't think I have done that before.
Okay, got it. Thanks for the help.
Okay, so we're gonna get started with testing this now. Good luck, everyone!

Well, shout out to my sister Kiramotchi [1
] who's birthday today though she makes me nervous with her crazy painting skills.
Regardless, she's very good at it. Painting usually isn't my thing.
She really knows how to bring colors to life!
Speaking of bringing colours to life: I just got a report about the San Nicasio vaults. Apparently they found a beautifully-made manuscript from the 13th century, supposedly filled with weird annotations that the Sgt. thinks I'll find interesting. I'll actually be able to see it myself soon!

On the topic of Ultra Space, Subway Boss Ingo recently went missing for almost two months. And when he came back, he recounted a story in which he had lost his memory, and was sent to what is essentially Sinnoh hundreds of years in the past. I looked into it, and I suspect that Ingo had fallen through an Ultra Wormhole. Is something like that possible?
Just a wanderer.
From what I'm aware of regarding theoretical physics, I think it's quite possible.
Man, I wonder what Alola was like several centuries in the past. Probably was more brutal than Sinnoh was in that time period.
"This girl named Dawn is endlessly complaining about what she calls 'Mega Evolution Absentia'. She's crazy!" - Dawn
Probably in Alola a few centuries ago there was probably a lot of tribal warfare with warships, complex battle strategies and sharp spears. I don't want to think too much about the gory details, I've watched a lot of movies that had those kind of similar battles.
Yeah, war is quite dark and scary no matter the time period.
Good thing we live in the present where there are very few wars or conflicts.
Sadly, very few does not mean nonexistent, Lana.

The Corbettites are currently showing me that manuscript book I mentioned
earlier. It has a really long Latin title, but the monks just call it the "Verona Homiletic Commentary." It's a manuscript of some parts of the Bible (namely Revelation and 1st-2nd Thessalonians) along with Books IV, V, & XVI-XX of the City of God.
However the book also has a bunch of annotations added in by the scribes. As in, it's mostly annotations. The book is something like 60-70% annotations and 30-40% actual book. All of the annotations are talking about then-current events — namely Barbary pirates, the Mongols, the Heterodynes, gnostic sects, et cetera. There's also talk about this thing called "the Veronese Devil" that I've never heard of before. I wonder what that is . . .
The art is amazing, too. Sometimes you'll have a whole page that's just artwork. Like this one: tvtropes.org/files/fol241veronahomiletic.JPEG Description/OOC

Interesting. In my world, legends are something I’m quite passionate about. And, whether by chance or influenced by Team Plasma, I am now the Hero of Ideals, the caretaker of a Legendary Pokemon (although not technically the person who it’s registered to, that’s Rosa. I gave it up to her because she would get more use out of having it, being a Champion.). The opposite side of that coin, the Hero of Truth, is Hilbert, and Reshiram.
I’m probably butchering BW2 lore here, I’ve never played that game
Technically he’s from the original Black and White, which I have played multiple times. He’s a much more minor character in the sequels.

aight. it me again. xenos apparently hasnt planned to connect to tv tropes at all? found some documents the other day, and now theres a military station around the satellite that connects me there. well, used to, i blew it up again cuz i'm just that cool
nah, actually, i have no idea what happened but someone blew a hole into the station and let the satellite drift out. i'm currently scanning for culprits, did any of you do this?
Not me
Not me either. Hell, idk how I'd get my hands on explosive charges or w/e in the first place

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.

Interesting text matching the phrase within my historical archives. the Veronese Devil turns ups a Italian renaissance painter based within Venice by the same name. Perhaps that would be a good start on investigating this figure?

Okay, so today's testing with Icarus went pretty well. We found some cubes that corresponded to different universes, and had different properties such as vibrance based on the properties of those universes.
It was pretty cool. I had never known about that kind of stuff before until today.
Congrats on the experiment! Mallow, Lana, and I were talking about what the Alola region was like a few centuries ago.
A lot of tribal warfare, warships and spears, I believe. I wish the games focused more on the history of Alola than Ultra Space, to be honest. There was so much potential, like with the history of Kalos.

Looked up the Veronese Devil, and I found pretty much the same thing that Uirst found, some guy called Paolo Veronese
.
Ah, another great painter!
We looked up on Veronese Devil too and we found a lot amazing illustrations of them.
Hmph...
In case you were wondering why Flandre has been absent, she got addicted to this "Minecraft" game. Which she's not allowed to play for a while anymore.

Ooh a party? Where?

I'd be ready for testing about now, how about you?
The first test would be sending a probe through the portal just to see where it ends up on the other side. Further tests would be testing edge cases, like the tensile strength of an iron rod that's halfway through the portal, the portal getting placed into solid matter, the portal getting closed while an object is halfway through it, etc. Lastly, Icarus would ask for the Solgaleo's diet and energy consumption, and test for specific inter-universal reactions that may take place during the transport process, which may or may not help him crack the mechanism. I'll leave that up for you to decide
If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.
