This is a thread where, as the title implies, our avatars (from our galleries) are posting in an in-universe forum thread. You can drop in any time with pretty much any character you want, whether from existing works or your own OCs. Though most of it is done through forum posts, some "in-person" interactions between characters is also fine.
Even if this is a more casual RP, there are still some rules and general RP etiquette to keep in mind for everyone to have a good time and feel comfortable:
- NO GODMODDING. Godmodding is when you decide what happens to another player's character, and is generally frowned upon. In particular, avoid injuring and especially killing someone else's character; fighting is ok but let the other player decide if the hit connects. If your plot idea requires something to happen to a different player's character, you'll want to privately discuss this with them and if they're ok with that. This includes in-universe moderation.
- Be nice and respect other players' boundaries. Your character being mean or a jerk is one thing, but if someone gets uncomfortable about your behavior towards their characters, knock it off. Also do not force others into your story arcs; in general it would be a good idea to ask the other person first if they are interested, and plan it together if they are.
- If you have anything to say, ask about, ect. that is not part of the RP, you can put it under a spoiler tag [[spoiler: like this]]
- While almost any character is welcome, please avoid playing any real-life person who's mainly associated with controversies, drama and problematic behavior. We don't need that here.
- Have fun!
Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

That's right brother, he'll never be on the same level but it is a admirable attempt.

So Kshahrewar is math/physics? Physics might give me trouble for obvious reasons; are there any exams from past semesters that I could take a look at?
We are currently in the process of releasing to the public any exam more than two years old, for reference purposes. Fair warning, though, Akademiya entrance exams have a tendency to change content (but rarely difficulty) significantly over the years. Here’s the one from Kaveh’s year, and the most recent one we’re allowed to release, respectively. kshahrewar_exam_0.pdf kshahrewar_exam_1.pdf
Two very lengthy documents containing test questions and answers, the older document being advanced math and physics, and the newer being logic problems and a long open-ended engineering challenge.
Just a wanderer. You guys... don't seem to have concrete lesson plans? The two tests are examining for two vastly different things. Either way, thanks - I'll take a closer look tomorrow, see how much I can solve.
How advanced maths? Like, post-highschool maths or uni stuff like calculus and linear algebra?

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.
It’s a general Darshan test, so pretty easy in any given subject by Akademiya standards. Kshahrewar is the broadest Darshan by far, too, and the only one where you are required to specialize further after getting in. For example, here are the Haravatat (my Darshan) tests from the same years. haravatat_exam_0.pdf haravatat_exam_1.pdf
Two documents, each four pages long, detailing essay requirements. They have the same specifications, with the only difference being the topic. One is about the symbolic analysis of something called the “King Deshret Script”, and the other is about the translation between Teyvat and Sumeran script. Notable is the particular specification that, if the essay is written in a language other than Teyvat or Sumeran, the student gets a not insignificant amount of extra credit.
The math would probably be uni stuff. Difficult for your average university math student, but not impossible to pass by any means. I am making all of this up, by the way, we know very little about the Akademiya’s actual curriculum.
Just a wanderer.
(x3)
Is there any reason why the Akademiya does that? I assume it's either to keep new students on their toes, or just to mess with people. Probably the former, but the latter isn't off the table.
And those are the entry exams for Kshahrewar? I could probably do it, sure, but not without a lot of effort on my part. Either the Akademiya discourages students, or they're some kind of quaternary education instead of tertiary like I thought.
Also, I assume a "Darshan" is like a course, right?

Not Tropeworthy: Evil Redhead
A “Darshan” refers to one of the six schools of the Akademiya. In simple terms: history and social sciences, biology, engineering, astronomy and astrology, elemental studies, and linguistics. And, yes, it’s a very intensive school. People often study for years just to get in, and then for a lot longer to graduate. For instance, as a Haravatat student, one must know twenty languages just to pass.
all of that is canon, and the twenty languages for haravatat is a conservative interpretation
Just a wanderer.
Wha— Twenty languages?
For reference, a well-educated person here in Europa usually learns six or eight, and even that's mostly for international work!
There's no way the Akademiya is analogous to a university. It has to be post-tertiary work — Otherwise, everyone in Sumeru must either be a genius or uneducated! Is there some kind of education people get before the Akademiya?

I agwee, bwain get tirahed fwom wooking at it.
Not all educational stuff is dull. Art class, dance class and gym class can be fun.
AI with access to the console
Ooh, what is it like Sophia?
Something to make school more cool?
Painting is fun!
Putting color to illustrations always brings them to life! aroo.
Only if the option to have less classes and just focus on the most interesting things to learn. I mean seriously, is everything from school going to be useful in adulthood?

x3 I don't recall mine, but if my kindergarten did that, they'd be shut down and the military would be sent to investigate the monsters.

How about maths? Sure, it's a matter of presentation, but there is a certain beauty to some functions or logical connections. For instance, here's a stock example: the Mandelbrot set
◊, a colouring of the complex plane using a recursive function!
I am once again asking for social interaction. Albedo, I know you're watching - how's work going? Anything I can help you with?
If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.
Now that sounds interesting!
What things you have to learn to be a princess though?

Do you think he has a crush on Windblume? /j
Thanks for the info. Guess I'll wait a bit, because I do have a question for him. Oh, and that reminds me that I wanted to test something, brb
(
) Politics and speaking mainly, if I had to guess? I don't know much about merfolk politics.
The test in question: sending air canisters filled in Stefan's homeworld to Tevyat and back again, then testing if they contain the same chemical that caused Stefan to cough blood the first time he visited. If they don't - great, no more problems with IU travel, because if Stefan wants to return, he can just inhale some homeworld air before getting transported!
If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.

You should see the work I have to do at school. It's very interesting.
So this Peppino guy can do charge attacks or a ground pound like me, but can he turn into a flattened, inflated, or even drunk version of himself? And most importantly: do he even put garlic in his pizzas?? I don't think so. I need more to be truly impressed (still, I like the attempt at homage toward my great Wario Land games...).
