This is a thread where, as the title implies, our avatars (from our galleries) are posting in an in-universe forum thread. You can drop in any time with pretty much any character you want, whether from existing works or your own OCs. Though most of it is done through forum posts, some "in-person" interactions between characters is also fine.
Even if this is a more casual RP, there are still some rules and general RP etiquette to keep in mind for everyone to have a good time and feel comfortable:
- NO GODMODDING. Godmodding is when you decide what happens to another player's character, and is generally frowned upon. In particular, avoid injuring and especially killing someone else's character; fighting is ok but let the other player decide if the hit connects. If your plot idea requires something to happen to a different player's character, you'll want to privately discuss this with them and if they're ok with that. This includes in-universe moderation.
- Be nice and respect other players' boundaries. Your character being mean or a jerk is one thing, but if someone gets uncomfortable about your behavior towards their characters, knock it off. Also do not force others into your story arcs; in general it would be a good idea to ask the other person first if they are interested, and plan it together if they are.
- If you have anything to say, ask about, ect. that is not part of the RP, you can put it under a spoiler tag [[spoiler: like this]]
- While almost any character is welcome, please avoid playing any real-life person who's mainly associated with controversies, drama and problematic behavior. We don't need that here.
- Have fun!
Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

Mina: "Ughh, just woke up from a terrible sleep. The Thanksgiving dinner was nice but I think I ate too much... And now my stomach hurts a lot."
Marnie: "Don't feel so good either. My head is a bit sore, and I think I might have a mild fever. Hopefully everyone is doing better than us."
"This girl named Dawn is endlessly complaining about what she calls 'Mega Evolution Absentia'. She's crazy!" - DawnMina: Well, I think in different countries people celebrate Thanksgiving in different months, so yeah.
Marnie: Mina and I are probably gonna visit the Paldea region soon. There's a lot of Pokemon that I really want to catch and add to my team. Mina also wants to take photos of the places there and save to an album collection.
"This girl named Dawn is endlessly complaining about what she calls 'Mega Evolution Absentia'. She's crazy!" - DawnMarnie: Paldea is the new region and setting featured in the Gen 9 Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games. They've moved on from my region, the Galar region, to focus on a new region based on Spain in Mina's world.
Mina: I've actually visited Spain before, but that was in my world, not Marnie's. Maybe in Paldea there might be a lot of differences...

"This girl named Dawn is endlessly complaining about what she calls 'Mega Evolution Absentia'. She's crazy!" - DawnMina: (*Sigh*)... A Pokemon is a like an animal in the real world, except they have special abilities such as being able to breathe fire or blast water, et cetera. I'm surprised you didn't know about them.
Marnie: Yeah, everyone I know so far knows about Pokemon. Not sure why someone would be Locked Out of the Loop about them...

I mean, they could be from an earlier time period. If this website is accurate, I'm a century too early to see the Pokémon craze.

] Now you know how we feel we need to explain what we are.
Well it's always good to inform those who might not know.

Unless Monstadt's subway system is overflowing in September and there are drunkards and Bavarian folk music everywhere, is Genshin really based on Germany that much? As a German, that's what I'd expect to see.

At least you get to oversleep without repercussions, right? I sometimes have to get up at 6AM in order to be on the campus at 8AM, it's awful.
Had an idea for a maths question that some more people should be able to answer this time. Who here has heard of Hilbert's Infinite Hotel before?
P.S. No, this isn't the question yet.

... Tarvy? OK. Anyways here's Herr Wulfenbach.
Hello Frau Jacquline! My name is Gilgamesh Wulfenbach — just call me Gil.
So you're a hellhound? As in, a dog from the underworld? What's that like for you?

Hi Jaq, welcome to the thread. Don't mind the occasional chaos.
Since nobody seems to be interested in Hilbert's Hotel, let me elaborate: Hilbert's Hotel is a theoretical hotel with infinite rooms, labeled 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and so on towards infinity - if you want to sleep in it, you have to be ready to change rooms whenever the portier asks for it, though.
Now, let's say that every last room in the hotel is occupied (whatever that last room may benote ). A new guest arrives at the hotel, and asks the portier for a room. But there aren't any rooms left, right? Well, the portier has a trick up his sleeve...
What does he do?
Correct!

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong. [1]
Ah Cerberus, apparently she was a big deal, guarding the gates to that old geezer Hades. I’m pretty sure she’s long gone, - Jaq

SKREEEEEEEONK![1]
Follow-up puzzle to this, before I go to sleep: now there's an infinitely long bus full of people, with seats labeled 1, 2, 3, and so on until infinity. Can the portier fit everyone from this bus into an already full hotel?
Also, happy to see someone else is also familiar with Hilbert's Hotel. Do you mind leaving this one to the others, though, Tux?
If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.

Really? What did they do to end up there?
